Would solve the issue of all these BS games no one cares about. Would free the calendar so we can have a real playoff without bowl interference.

Bowl games should morph into a football version of the NIT for non playoff P4 and G5 teams

Yes.

Labor Day weekend to allow travel.
Reward for programs who had good/decent years.
Allows more time to plan trips.
Better weather.

You would have teams that didn’t earn it, getting stomped because 3/4 of their team is gone. Fact of the matter is that money is still being made off of these games, and for many programs, players still get a good experience, extra practice, and some swag. I agree though, the prestige of a bowl has lowered.

I like the idea but they wouldn’t be bowl games.

We already do it with the “Kickoff Classic” games between P4 schools at Neutral sites (Auburn vs Baylor this year in the AFLAC kickoff classic). We could make these “bowl games/kickoff classics” week 0/1 and play the traditional bowl games at their sites (minus the CFP bowls). Only difference is these bowl games are now kickoff classics at the beginning of the season.

“Pop tarts Bowl Kickoff Classic”

Instead of previous year’s performance being a factor each of the bowl committee invites whichever team they want.
