DeBoer: went to Bama to prove himself. A high pressure job following up the GOAT.

Heupel: Went into an absolute mess, bet on himself and has stabilized it.

Kirby: waited for the right job to open, went to his Alma Mater and brought them up to their potential

Sumrall + Golesh willingly stepped into high pressure situations that are messy.

Kiffin: went to LSU so he didn't have to work as hard essentially. It wasn't about what he could do for LSU or how he could prove himself, it was all about what LSU could do for Lane.

I can't wait to watch the soap opera when he either fails spectacularly or ditches LSU for the NFL in short order

Yup trying to take the easy way out. He is afraid to bet on himself. Thats the difference between him and Cignetti. Curt is a man and Kiffin is a west coast pillow bitter

The easy way would’ve been to stay at ole Miss and never get fired because he’s their best coach in 50 years. LSU will expect to be in the playoff 75% of the time he’s there

The easy way out?

I’d say he did an admirable job of building OM into a contender.

Also, it wasn’t long ago the Rant was telling me that no one would take the job at LSU. The school was a dumpster fire with a meddlesome Governor, no AD, no school President and a POS football program.

Yes, that sounds exactly like a place where a coach can coast. I mean, just ask Brian Kelly.

At least for Old Piss fans, it hasn’t been well over a decade since Lane left them for a better job

Move on already.

He may be the only coach to be the head coach at 3 different SEC schools.

Coaches with Multiple SEC Head Coaching Jobs

Bear Bryant: Led Kentucky (1946–1953) and Alabama (1958–1982).

Tommy Tuberville: Led Ole Miss (1995–1998) and Auburn (1999–2008).

Houston Nutt: Led Arkansas (1998–2007) and Ole Miss (2008–2011).

Doug Dickey: Led Tennessee (1964–1969) and Florida (1970–1978).

Will Muschamp: Led Florida (2011–2014) and South Carolina (2016–2020).

Harry Mehre: Led Georgia (1928–1937) and Ole Miss (1938–1945).

Is this supposed to insult LSU fans? Sorry LSU provides a place that will compete and win championships.

That's why they are a perfect match in a way, both have unrealistic expectations of themselves and will fade obscurity eventually

If you don't care about your coach not having any chest, no

It amazes me that every non LSU fan thinks Lane will fail, but yet they think he should have stayed at ole miss and just be great.

Never seen other fans so triggered.
