Watching Pete's postgame presser, he was asked what things he had changed and he said he asked the players and the first thing that they got rid of was the basketball goals.

Another takeaway from this presser. Pete wants to win big. He's hungry. And secondly, he believes he can win big at Ole Miss. He's touting us as a top 5 in the nation program.

Man, a hungry young coach that believes he can win here. We may have struck a goldmine. And man is it refreshing to have a coach that talks up the program and the fanbase. I like this guy a lot.

He did not even want this game ball that Keith gave him after the game.. You could thru last part of the season the Basketball goal player was not feeling it too.. Glad he did not wait till next season too make that freaking move.

I know I’ve just had a few beers and something I noticed. At one point I was like is he signing for the deaf? I’m digging him as the HC for the foreseeable future.

You can tell he knows a lot more about ball the more you hear from him in pressers.. Simple questions he is going the true answer not beat around the bush.

I noticed that as well. He knows football.

So he knows football. He believes in the program. He's young and he's hungry. And he is a man.

Sign me up. I'm on the Pete Fleet. He's like the best parts of a young Hugh Freeze and the program is willing to fully back him buying the best players.

and Unlike Freeze or LK he is not about the focus fun crap.. Wild that LK was making them wear all the same shoes for uniforms too.. He don't realize how many players he may got come back just by allowing that vote too.. Cause kids love being able to have a choice of things if they can.

Yep.

He's also an alpha male and not a California fairy. He's said they are back to work tomorrow at 7am.

I liked Pete’s presser. Seems like a straight shooter and a good dude. I liked Judge’s too, he made a point to emphasize that we’re not overlooking anyone, we take it one opponent at a time. Glad we kept him.

I will submit this; I know he said he didn't want to be a head coach and in my experience, guys who don't generally have the desire to lead and have been placed into positions of leadership whether that be because they didn't have a choice or because someone out there just believed in their potential and put them there, have turned out to be very successful leaders. Again, that has been my experience.

I'm not suggesting that you can book on that here but everyone's gotta start somewhere and guys who take on that role who didn't want it, generally embrace that responsibility and understand what they're taking on when they have to answer the call. They sponge as much as possible, so they are successful

I get that vibe from him. Whether that translates into success remains to be seen and I'm hopeful. I guess we'll see.

I been thinking about all the interview that he said that.. I am now thinking he kinda said that so LK would not try and boot him from being DC anymore.. Cause anytime a coach wants move up around LK he trys and get rid of them asap. You can' tell me any coach don't want to be HC as a end goal in life. That seems like a goal if you do ever start coaching common sense

Yeah, I don't know that everyone is really ready for it the same way. I'm not suggesting that he never wanted to be a HC but I think people's timing is important to note here and that it's not universal.

There was once a guy who never aspired to be a commanding General nor the first President of a new country and in fact tried to decline those roles. But he did ok after being called upon. Maybe not a perfect comparison but still ….

That only makes sense when it’s a NIL opportunity for the whole team.

That definitely has been a long-standing experience. Some of the best leaders don’t become the leader because they want to….they do it because they feel they need to.

I appreciate the lack of coach speak and easy confidence for sure. Dude is pretty comfortable commanding a presser without coming off like an a-hole. Zero pretension with CPG but not in a way that makes it seem like he isn't sure of himself. I dig it.

Hope that carries over to being successful overall as an HC. He's a hard guy not to like.
