We have so much talent at WR and it was fun to see it utilized again after a brutal drought. Last night moved Brooks up the pecking order for me. Is it...

1: Bernard
2: Brooks
3: Horton
4: Williams
5: Hale/Scott/Mbakwe

Is Brooks our most gifted WR right now? Was surprised by drops from Germie and Horton last night, though the throws weren't great.

For all the (justified) Williams frustration, he's probably a solid WR4 when you think about it. We just want him to be WR1 like vs UGA last year. Expectations are a motherfricker

Adams has some of the best hands on the team, but gets no PT.

He was playing a good bit last year until he got hurt.

He isn't afraid of getting hit either.

Yeah, I don't understand why Cole isn't used as a slot safety especially on 4-5 WR sets

At least we know he will catch it and while he may not have RW athleticism he isn't mentally cooked and can run well after catch

The most explosive player in our roster is Ryan Williams but he’s the 3rd worst drop rate in the country making him damn near unserviceable.

It’s a fricking shame.

If you put Rico Scott and Cole Adams side by side and ran them through drills I’m not sure Cole wins any of the skill challenges.

That’s not a knock of Cole, it’s a reflection of what the capabilities of the guys ahead of him are when healthy.

Rico Scott hasn't done jack-squat. Don't give me the old he blocks though BS.

Scott is roster filler at best.

Scott has the best speed on the entire team, what makes you think he’s filler?

This one I can answer. Cole Adams isn’t significantly faster or more explosive than our Tight Ends. So you can put in Adams or a guy who is significantly taller/stronger and offers more in the run game to play basically the same position.

Dude Cuevas and Edwards are pretty fast for TEs. I’m not saying Adams isn’t slightly faster. I’m saying he doesn’t add anything in seperation that’s so impactful that it makes up for what we take away in blocking and physicality by having those snaps go to a TE.

There’s a reason Adams isn’t playing. It’s not just for funsies.

Adams is quicker and faster in a straight line or coming out of breaks.

Most of our TE's can't block very well.

Adams wouldn't necessarily be replacing a TE anyway. He'd be getting some PT of the receivers that keep dropping passes.

Edwards has played 14 games and hasn't done a damn thing but drop passes. He can't block. He looks the part for sure.

You're no freshmen after 14 games.

Ok look at the WRs DeBoer recruits/favors. Big and tall guys with straight line speed on the outside. Then if he had smaller faster guys, they are slot guys with great route running who can do gadget things.

Adams isn’t going to play over Williams or Germie in that role because he isn’t better than them at anything except fair catching punts. The only other thing you could do is bring another slot in instead of a TE and give up size blocking.

You guys can argue with me if you want but I’m telling you what our staff is doing and why

Everyone sees Cole as a New England slot guy that catches everything and makes first downs. It is probably the light skin for some of our message board brothers.
