One of the reasons for hiring Muschamp was now Coach Boom can pretty much be the HC of the defense and Sark doesn't have to stay on the headset while the defense is on the field every play. Now, Muschamp gives him time where he can go talk to the offense or have a chat with Arch when he needs to.

So, since he is admitting now that he can put more focus on the offense by hiring Muschamp as DC, he doesn't have any excuses next year. I believe Coach Muschamp will field a top tier defense and now the ball is in Sark's court to make it to win the SECCG, then we can see how far we go after that.

If Sark stuck with a DC he had to supervise on the sidelines and paid him millions, that’s only a little better than Brian Kelly.

Muschamp will need more than a year. Sark is going to miss his ”Manning” and “Simmons” window

I don't think he needs more than a year, but guess we'll see in 9 months.

New coach. New schemes, new terminology. Here is a perfect example. Collin Klein. First year okay results, second year offense takes off. One of the reasons A&M is hiring within. Schemes are already in place and players don’t have to learn anything new.

Defense is far easier to implement than an offense.

Whose next when this retread experiment fails? Manny _iaz will likely be available in a couple of seasons.

Most DC’s would disagree.

Wut? Everyone on the offensive side of the ball knows where they are going.

Almost like a “Head Coach in Waiting”.

Muschamp will actually be the coach after Sark is fired for failing to deliver once again

excuses for this shitty offense every year. Nothing changes next year and no, we aren't winning the SEC. Not with sark running the offense.

I think Texas will have 6 new starters on defense in the bowl game, to go with the new recruits that are early enrollees (all but one, I think).

I don't think it will be much different than most teams, replacing 30+ players from graduation, leaving early, and transfers.

You should know as well as anybody that Simmons doesn't need much coaching.

Sark will eventually be fired but I'm not convinced Mushchamp will be handed the keys. We've seen plenty of evidence that he is a very average head coach.

Then again so was Sark and they hired him so anything's possible with this Motley Crue in charge of hiring here.

He certainly didn’t need a year when he first arrived at Texas in 2008. The ‘07 defense was abysmal and the ‘08 defense was elite even with 2 freshmen starting in the secondary.
