I remember that game. If anyone recalls, the commercial that came on after was for goodyear. It featured the flying shoe.

It happened a year prior to Tennessee. A BYU player threw the QB's shoe, but was not flagged for it.

Up until that game, Dan Mullen was 26-7 with 2 Top 10 seasons with the Gators ranked in the Top 10.

Nothing against you guys, but a game with OU just doesn't have the same appeal as a game with LSU. There are so many unpredictable moments in LSU vs Florida games. Things can go off the rails at any time, and there have been some epic matchups too. Sad to lose our rivalry games.

The guy who threw the shoe was a captain for the coin toss next game. That shows why Mullen's tenure ended so dramatically and suddenly. There was never any accountability for anyone and over time people figure that out. One hell of a play caller though...
