Why ND gets a pass in 2026?

Do we have an honest answer as to who is giving ND a pass and why? We know NBC subsidizes them but in 2026 with so many other media partners who is pulling the strings in college football that gives ND more sway than other individual teams and/or conferences?

Did ND demand this top 12 automatic admission inclusion and the leaders of the CFP just bent over? I honestly do not understand how ND can have that much sway. I know many Catholics who don't care about ND so I do not think its religious. Their TV ratings are significantly down.

So who is truly giving them this much sway?

Some of us are in the playoffs and still locked in to the 2025 season….but we wouldn’t expect you to understand that.

An MOU is not a binding document. It is an inducement to negotiate. Having become public, I now believe that negotiation may go badly for ND.

Control of the committee comes mostly from the P5 conferences. They must have okayed or we are likely about to see some changes in the selection committee.

Maybe ND will be ranked by the committee 13th next season.

Why are people not affiliated with ND who are in this decision making process agreeing to this type of crap? IMO, the only party who should be "voting" for ND to get this type of treatment is ND, not anyone else. NO ONE not named ND should agree to this. They should be forced to join a conference just like everyone else or just run the risk of being left out, like they did this season.
