The Sugar Bowl should be a revenge game for both teams

Coaches are always looking for random themes to motivate their team, and revenge has always been a reliable theme. Ole Miss coaches will try to convince their players that they should be out for revenge against Georgia, and Georgia coaches will try to convince their player that they should be out for revenge against the Sugar Bowl. The bad memories are still very fresh. Kirby will go work.

It really just matters who was truly the puppet master behind the scenes and during the week. Lane on the field with his gay whistle or the OC in the box. We should learn vs Tulane

I’m mainly just interested in seeing if the offense is very smooth and on time and in rhythm. Not so much the final score.

Looks like Colbie Young may have an outside shot at coming back, especially if we handle business in the Sugar Bowl.

That would be pretty reckless if so. Pickens making 1 long catch in the NC 10 months after an acl tear is one thing, if his leg break was that bad idk how I feel about that

That was the same play when Stetson Bennett separated his shoulder but didn't realize he separated his shoulder until after he played the air guitar. We had a receiver in the end zone looking like he may never walk again and our quarterback laying down at the 40 yard line holding his shoulder.

I still can’t decide if seeing jack saints leg or chubbs knee injury is the worst I’ve ever witnessed live for a UGA player.
Chubbs was definitely worse on tv since they kept showing it for some reason close up

They kept showing him passing out on the cart too.
That’s the day I went from a strong dislike of Tennessee to absolutely hating them. Their fans were very trashy about chubbs injury.

Wasn't nearly as gruesome, IIRC. Jacksaint's was one of those really nasty ones where the leg was very obviously pointed in the wrong direction.

At first glance, I thought this was an easy draw for Georgia, but now it doesn't appear quite as easy. Looks like the main group of Ole Miss staff will be coaching in the playoffs, other than Kiffin obviously, which makes them a much better team.
And, the playoff committee did Ole Miss a huge favor with the seedings. As far as I know, Ole Miss is the only team so far to enter a playoff with guaranteed re-matches in their first two games (I don't even recall any rematch in the first game). That means their coaches don't have to come up with an entirely new game plan or study either opponent from scratch. That's a big plus for a team that lost their head coach. They may not even have to tweak their previous game plan for Tulane, mostly just focus on Georgia for the next 3 weeks.
Which raises a question. Why did the committee rank Tulane higher than James Madison, which meant a boring first round game with Ole Miss barring something unexpected? Ole Miss has already blown them out once. The other polls had James Madison ahead of Tulane until the final poll, when it became obvious that the playoff committee was gonna go with Tulane at the 11 seed. James Madison had a respectable single loss vs Louisville early in the season, a win over Washington State, and appears to have the much better defense of the two. Tulane beat 5 loss Duke (so did UConn), but also got blown out by a crappy UTSA team and by Ole Miss. Putting them at 11 looks like an intentional move to create a perfect rematch for Ole Miss.

Yeah, that's a gift for Ole Miss. Their coaches know Tulane and they're still very superior to Tulane with or without Kiffin on the sideline. It's like they were intentionally given a bye.

Wasn't a huge part of their offense Kiffin making the presnap reads for Chambliss and then telling him what to do?

I guess we'll find out. But it initially looked like their staff would be gutted. They're a lot better off having both coordinators and the main position coaches for the next few weeks. And since they've already prepared for and faced opponents one and two, that's a big boost in game prep. It allows them to minimize Tulane game prep and spend most of their time re-looking at Georgia.
Prior to the BIG championship game, ESPN seemed almost convinced that Ohio State and Indiana would remain #1 and #2 unless the game was a blowout. With Georgia sitting at #3, Ole Miss at #6, and Tulane ranked ahead of James Madison (by the committee, but nobody else for several weeks), the "tea leaves" have been pointing to Ole Miss vs Georgia in round two since the first of December. I just think Ole Miss will be a lot more prepared for Georgia than you'd expect from a team that lost their head coach. I think the committee may have given them an intentional assist, with round one at the very least.
I'm not sure that getting the winner of TAMU - Miami wouldn't have been a more favorable draw, because they have to prepare for and face a better, more physical opponent in game one. We could've spent the initial two week break (Dec 7th - 20th) focused on them, but they wouldn't have that luxury.

Yes. That's why Lane would whistle. He was making the pre-snap read and telling Chambliss what play to run based off that.
Lane was the brains behind that operation.

I hate that Ole Miss has a warm up game the week before this. That seems to be an advantage after a month off.
