That was no fluke. Bama fans, why did you hire DeBoer over Cignetti?

Indiana is for real. That was amazing. Alabama could have used that toughness.
How did the heir to Saban end up at Indiana?

That was Sabanesque.
Felt like I was watching LSU in 2003.
Amazing. They just kept coming and never wilted. Incredible toughness and resolve.

I mean I know CC coached for Saban in his early days at Alabama but how exactly was the coach at James Madison the "heir to Saban"?

Because he coached for Saban, is bought in on “the Process,” and fielded a team that reminded me of Saban’s teams.

Alabama played one of the toughest schedules in the country this year. Was #11 before tonight, should be top10 or maybe close to top5 after tonight.
Indiana played the 43rd toughest. Will go up some tonight after this game also obviously.
Ohio st was 53rd - will go up.
Ole Miss is 50th.
Texas A&M is 32nd
Georgia 33rd - will go up.
Miami - 47th
Notre Dame - 42nd.
The only other playoff contender with a top20 schedule is Oklahoma, who comes in #19.
Texas played the #4 SoS and won 9 games, they deserve a shoutout here also.
Most teams crumble under a schedule like this.

I understand this and think Bama rebounded nicely after a horrible start to the year.
Adding teams to this conference and then going to the 9-game schedule was a terrible decision in my opinion. It's going to result in less good teams making the playoffs from the SEC. There isn't a level playing field from conference to conference. And with Notre Dame being indy and never playing a conf game, it's hard to make sense of this all.

The 9 game conference schedule is a terrible idea. They are making decisions based on money instead of being about competitive sports.
I think it's likely just going to keep getting worse. This sport use to be about finding out who was the best team in the country, now it's about maximizing revenue for ESPN and the other networks for money and views. So they want more "parity" and to drum up interest instead.
