Not sure Bama is as good as Miami or Notre Dame.

I'll have to go back and watch the Athens game, but right now they're not looking too good.

"good" is a hard term to define.
Bama is more proven than either Miami or ND. Bama has wins over UGA, Vandy and Mizzou as ranked opponents. Two of those are in the top 15.
Miami's only win over a ranked opponent was ND.
ND's only win over a ranked opponent was USC (who's not in the top 15).
The reality is when you get down to teams like this on the bubble, they all have warts. None of them (if Bama loses to UGA today) really deserve a playoff slot. So in my mind it doesn't really matter who gets it.

Notre Dame is better.
(This should get some traction)

they haven't looked good their last 4 games!

Perhaps not, but they have the better resume. When you are selecting the field for a playoff, resume gets you in, then there is room for some subjective evaluation of strength in setting the seeds.

Miami and ND aren't all that great.
