This is what Aggies meant when we said Texas shouldn’t come to the SEC

Historically they have acted very much like ND. Selecting their conference based on what was the easiest path to the championship. We knew from experience that you’d get left out of the playoffs many seasons because you’d have losses against teams that would keep you out that you wouldn’t lose if you played against a weaker field.
Aggies made the move because we needed the money and were okay with playing against the best even if we weren’t selected for the playoffs every year. We were okay with struggling until we actually deserved it.
Texas believes they are ordained as special and deserve a spot every year. No matter how many teams have a better record than they do.
Aggies in 2020 were upset about getting left out but it was in no way this level of cry baby behavior coming from the Aggies. No where close. We just scheduled ND and said we will just have to beat them head to head.
The horns do the opposite. They run from playing the hard teams to prop themselves up so they can beat up on weak teams much like ND does.
Not saying Texas is not a good team. They are. But they are not in a conference that will get them what they think they “deserve”.

They'll leave inside of a decade.

Actually... it was worse. That "All SEC" gauntlet everyone brags about was composed of some bad conference teams... including that trash the EdO put together.

OP is obsessed with Texas.
Every other day he posts some diatribe about big brother Texas...

One good thing about so much SEC expansion is seeing auburn fall to the bottom of the SEC simply from so much alpha team pressure.

So you saw A&M run away from playing hard teams after they were snubbed right? We’ve played top 5 teams and lost sometimes three times in a single season. And needed wins desperately. Did we avoid ND? Clemson when they were good? We won all the SEC games except Bama and sacked up and played harder teams. Not weaker ones.

I want to be sure I watch your trip to the CFP championship this year. What team do you play?

Did I say that you dumbass? Hell, you quoted what I said about the all sec season and you still asking about playing or not playing other teams.

I am glad Texas is in the SEC.half our family are Ags and the other half Horns.
Money and egos fricked up our annual game. I was for Texas joining from the first moment it was rumored.
But hey, that’s just me and just about every Aggie and Longhorn fan I know.
BTW… your premise that we moved to SEC because we needed the money is incorrect out of the gate. Just flat wrong. Dodds, the LHN, and Texas trying to move us, OU, and Tech to the PAC was the problem. They were trying to choose paths for everyone. That was the last straw. Money had frick all to do with it. Educate yourself a bit.

Respectfully I guess I am not understanding your point. You are saying since we played no OOC games that season we wouldn’t still try to schedule weaker teams the next seasons? Because we didn’t play anyone OOC that season?
If that’s your point, okay. I’m not sure I agree. But it’s worth noting.

Man y'all just need to beat their arse and quit worrying about what they do.

I am fully aware. I was being generous to Texas fans and not bringing up all that baggage. But you are correct. It wasn’t really about money. I just said that to be a little more gentle with reality.

Yep. No doubt. It’s just all over the media. In Texas it’s all you hear. It’s hard to ignore the incessant whining when they don’t get their way.

Fun fact: texas has zero quality playoff wins. They went 0-1 their first appearance. Last year they had the easy lane and took down 12 seed Clemson and 4 seed Arizona State, the two worst auto bids in the bracket. Every playoff team they've played with a pulse has bested them.

I’m glad they are here too. I’m not sure they will continue to feel that way though. I think playing them is good for our state and good for the game.

I’m not going there. They are better than us. Not throwing shade here against the horns. Just simply stating how I think they feel about schedule structuring and conference alignment.

I mean it had something to do with it. Unequal revenue sharing with other conference members, sips wanting to televise high school games on their LHN, third-tier media rights, etc.
They are historically bad conference mates. When they aren’t ratting out other teams for the same recruiting violations they do, they are looking for special treatment, consider themselves loftier than others, lead legal and PR campaigns if another team wants to do their own thing. “Little brother” gave them the finger in 2011. They lost that conference realignment battle, did absolutely nothing meaningful in the Big 12 after Nebraska, Colorado, A&M, and Missouri…then 10+ years finally admitted they fricked up and crawled away from their original position. A&M led the way and “the Joneses” followed.
And they are still bleeding over all of that.
Texas should absolutely be independent. They’ll never do it because as bad as they want to be, they’ll never be Notre Dame. But their delusion that they are gives all the other CFB fans something to laugh about every year.

The CFP committee has not finalized the matchups yet.
Until then just celebrating the curb stomping the Longhorns handed the THEN #3 aggy.

Sounds like something y’all universally felt really strongly about. So I’m curious what you voted to let them in?
