This is what it looks like when you give a coach autonomy to fire and hire the staffers he wants and decide which players to keep. There are some staffers and players that will leave that personally I'd like to stay, but Golesh is doing it his way with his guys who know what he wants and how he wants it done.

Every time there's a coaching change we fans have a list of who and what we want to preserve from the failure of the last staff. You can't say you want the PTB to be hands off yet effectively ask for the same control as a fanbase. In the end, anyone that leaves has been part of the worst stretch of Auburn football in the modern era, with losing season after losing season since 2020. We've hired a new coach to fix that, so you've got to let him do it and see if it works out.

Correct. There is not a single coach on the previous staff that I would want on Golesh's staff unless Golesh wants them. That staff was a losing one. Good riddance. I do think it was good that Golesh wanted to keep Durkin around for 1 more season. I don't believe Durkin will be at AU past 2026 and that is OK. There are potentially better DCs out there.

one thing i like about Golesh, he has said specifically he’s not a “slogan” coach

i cant see him doing any goofy videos like Butch at UTee or the one Sumrall dropped the other day

None of this matters if he doesn't win football games but what i have liked about him so far is his attention to detail. I've watched a few videos of him speaking and it really stands out. He talked in one about how he moved from being a coordinator to being a HC. Between his first and second season at UT he said he started getting calls and it occurred to him that he didn't really have a plan so on his vacation to the beach that year he spent two weeks coming up with how he would transition involving every detail he could think of for the first 6 months. He said something similar about a 6 month plan when we hired him.

I just hope he understands that you have to have talent to win in this league. I hope he doesn’t underestimate how talented this roster is, thus allowing them to transfer and replace them with USF and other G5 caliber players. It won’t work.

I would think being a coordinator level
Coach in this league would give you a decent understanding of the talent level needed to compete.
