UGA pursuing a buyout from Damon Wilson

This is instructive. Apparently high-quality starting edge rushers are worth $30,000 a month these days. Will probably go up with the 18 million in institutional spending.

I'm glad. Rules have to start somewhere. Maybe this helps bring down the nil craziness some.

If they want to act like this is a business and get paid like coaches and pros, they need to learn about contracts.

Agree, this could set a very interesting precedent that could affect a lot of future NIL deals. And NIL is in major need of some guard rails, in my opinion. It’s currently the wild wild west and the situation as it stands isn’t sustainable.

Saw a comment (on IG so probably BS) claiming to "know" that Mizzou may have sent Damon the buyout money and he never paid it to UGA. Probably internet BS but if true...wow.

Heard the same thing from reputable sources as well so I don’t think it’s BS.
