Vitriol at Lane Kiffin from Ole Miss fans

I think that both Lane and Ole Miss could have handled the exit better, but at the end of the day I think Ole Miss should be grateful to Kiffin and wish him well.
He coached there for 6 years (average SEC coach is at job for 3.5-4 years)
He was there longer than any other Ole Miss coach going back to Billy Brewer in 80’s and early 90’s.
Let’s consider Pete Golding. If he struggles, he won’t be there 3.5 years. If he coaches there for 6 years and wins 55 games in that time….then he’s leaving when one of these teams offer him- Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and Texas A/M. Will Ole Miss fans hate every coach that leaves them for a better job. If so, they are going to hate all of their mildly successful coaches moving forward. Ole Miss is a 2nd tier SEC job, and would be happier accepting that reality.

He left a playoff team for his school's 2nd biggest rival and blackmailed his employer on the way out the door. This was after 6 weeks of not signing an extension sitting on his desk and publicly sending his family on scouting trips to BR and Gainesville.
Both things can be true. OM fans can be happy of the success on the field but also want him to GTFO so they can enjoy their season. It's best for all parties that he's gone because LSU got their guy and Ole Miss can move on with their lives.

He might leave if they are 10-2, 9-3 and not in the playoff. Doubt he would leave at 11-1 and hosting a playoff game.
That's part of it.
Ole Miss was gonna hate him no matter what. But in terms of the coverage this week after he left, a lot of that is because he lied about the goings on many, many times.
Not sure how there are two different stories of someone trying to run you off the road. That either happened or it didn't and law enforcement says it didn't.
He's failed once at a big time hiring like this. He better bring it because they are already paying him like he's won one. That was not the case with Ed, Les or Nick.

I love these agenda posts. I notice these never come from Bama or Georgia fans.
Why is that?

are you seriously trying to say Ole Miss is just as good a job as LSU?
2nd tier was generous imo

Kiffin prayed on it multiples times and God led him to LSU. Really weird seeing so many Rebel fans upset at God’s will. I guess they are satanists up there in Oxford.

Well, three other teams, including OM were willing to pay him all that money as well. In all honesty, there’s so much shite being spewed between Lane and Ole Miss right now, I really feel like the truth really falls somewhere in the middle. It’s just like a really bad breakup. You know how that goes, hearing one side of the story during a break up and it’s always never quite the full picture.

No. LSU is bigger but you are clearly living in the past.
The concept of tiers within the SEC is being very clearly eroded to the point of no longer mattering.
Meanwhile, old “blue blood” programs like Nebraska have been left behind.
You could argue that the entire SEC is tier 1 in CFB.

I don't remember how LSU fans acted when Saban left for the Dolphins, but I know how they reacted when he went to LSU's "rival", Alabama, and it wasn't pretty.

i’m not
making the playoff and winning the national title are two different things
the advent of the NIL clearinghouse also favors bigger brands for obvious reasons

Serious question for lsu fans, if in 3 years he gets LSU back in the top 10 and contending, then leaves for Alabama for a better shot at winning it all, how will you feel?

then leaves for Alabama
there is no reason for him to leave LSU for Alabama
now I could see a world in which he leaves for the NFL at a weird time that screws us over, but if he wins big here it’s worth it

Exactly. OM fans forget that they were going to pay him just as much as LSU is paying him.
Now they want to say they wanted him gone and the players hated him. If this was true, why offer the extension?
Why offer the extension Rebs? Why?

When you’re a poverty program and daddy comes calling then you should have a plan for this not to happen. But, alas, it’s Ole Miss we are talking about here.

You remind me of me a few weeks ago. There is no reason for him to leave ole Miss for LSU. Don't let yourself get too emotional about what you think your school/team is. LSU isn't bama. He'd leave for bama if they ever asked him to. But don't think they even would answer his calls, let alone have the governor call to kiss his arse.
