And you can pick whoever you want from those states, what state combos would you pick to win a national title and have a consistent program season after season?

Texas and Florida is an obvious pick, but there are a lot of combos that would have some really deep talented teams but not that many overall if you think about it. Like Oregon and New York would be a garbage recruiting base.

Barry Switzer once said “Give me Houston and I’ll give you the rest of the country.” There was a point about 20 years ago that Houston had more players in the NFL than any other city and most of the states.

So I’d take Texas and any other of Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, California.

California and Florida. Wouldn’t think twice about it.

Texas, Cali, Florida are 1,2,3 when it comes to future nfl players…but I like Cali quarterbacks over Texas quarterbacks

Texas and Louisiana would be elite. Florida and Alabama loaded. Georgia and California super deep. Alabama and Louisiana would be good and could win a national title against these other teams on any given season, not as consistently but sometimes. They would just have less depth at certain positions compared to these other teams.

Would be a perennially good, seldom great team. Basically LSU.

The only viable answer includes 2 of the 3 between California, Texas, and Florida. Any other answer is a self imposed disadvantage

Florida is defacto 1

I'd toggle Tex instead of Cali if Tex started caring about defense at the HS level again in a meaningful way. As it sits they're both pure athlete states (for the most part) and I'll take the deeper population state of California in this matchup.

Like Oregon

Has like 4 million people. Of course the recruiting there sucks. New York is huge but their high school football is among the worst in the country. Surprisingly New Jersey is very good though. Same with Virginia and Maryland.

Texas producers as many defensive players as any other state and the best high school teams in Texas, most of them play defense.Texas also produces a lot more D1 football players than California, California used to produce more than they do now, but I don’t know what happened with that. I would put Georgia ahead of California, the amount of D1 players is about the same out of each state Every year and California has four times the population, I think Georgia has a higher level of football player on average. California is definitely top four though it would make a great combo with a lot of states

If you aren't picking Florida, you're stupid. The talent is throughout the state. The talent is all in Southern California there.

Texas would also be a good pick.

Anyone not picking some combination of Florida, California, and Texas is an idiot.

It’s called using data and not “muh state is the best” emotions, you simple frick.

Those states produce the most nfl players. California is third, with 57 more than 4th place Georgia.

The NFL is where the best football players play football for a living. Stereotypes exist for a reason. If you asked this hypothetical to every coach in the country, they would side with me. Numbers are numbers
