If TX didn’t play tOSU, they would be in. However, the playoffs prioritize what actually happened on the field.

That loss to Florida and the near losses to Kentucky and Miss. State don't help their case.

That’s how it was for Bama last year. I think we had the second best odds, but didn’t even get in.

That would be a form of power rankings based on recent performances rather than season rankings.

Alabama is ranked 9th and lost to FSU (Florida just beat them 40-21). They had near losses to South Carolina and Auburn.

I think OP meant that a system taht would even allow texas into the playoffs is fricked up.

They have 0% claim whatsoever to the right to be called a national champion.
