He supposedly wanted to continue to coach Ole Miss.

Now he is LSU's head football coach. They likely have an upcoming bowl game...... so he coaches them right ? If not, why not ?

I don't think they've decided yet.

He's said he wasn't in his press conference yesterday

He probably should since LSU fans love to brag about all of Brian Kelly's bowl wins.

Cutcliffe coached us for ours in ‘98, so wouldn’t see why not.

Lanes ego won’t allow him to start his LSU career with a potential loss.

He said in the presser yesterday that Frank will be handling bowl preparations. He will still be the head coach for that, I’m sure he will be involved though

I defer back to my original theory, then.

Ding ding ding.

He’s watched enough game film to know the team’s offense, and would be a better play caller than Wilson. But in the choice between helping his new employer and potentially starting out with a blemish on his own record, we can sorta guess what his choice is.

Maybe he wants to wait and see the bowl opponent before deciding ?

If so, perhaps the prestige of the bowl venue would be an issue for Mr Kiffin ?

No. The bowl game is for Lane to evaluate the staff and players and figure out what he has for next year and what changes he needs to make regarding the staff and transfer portal

Lane has a staff and roster to build. Whatever shite bowl we play in is meaningless.
