If anything this season should have taught us is that now more than ever, coaching matters.

So long as a university has the money in NIL, they will get an above average team on the field.

We saw it with every SEC team. Look at Ark. In most every game. Look at MSU. the same boat. Vandy... Wow

Now look at the usual teams. LSU. What happened? Coaching. Look at us. Beatable. TX, beatable.UGA, beatable. TAMU beatable.

NIL has helped level the playing field and the long it is a thing, The more the players will see they don't need the name of the college. They get the money and the fame of playing and being seen by the NFL.

Now more than ever, teams with the best coaching staff will win. And in the end, it will make a better product on the field. More watchers. Fan bases grow...etc

BTW... the SEC is not alone in this. It's going to happen in every conference.

Indeed. And unless you pay up you will field a different team every year.

KC is going to Sunday playdays but I bet Craver will have a half dozen suiters vying for his services next year. Hate what the game has become.

It's the NIL. Saban knew it was coming.

There will be a Yankees. Or a 90’s Cowboys. Right now it looks like Ohio State is in the lead for that role.

Everyone else will be relatively equal, but that one team will emerge that has all NFL studs. It will evolve that way just like MLB did.

At least these kids are getting paid some of the money they are making for the schools. There is no perfect system and things always evolve, some good things and some unfortunate consequences.

It is interesting that in year 2 of the CFB playoff, we're looking at UGA, OSU, ND, Indiana and Oregon as the teams who've made the 12 team playoff both seasons.

For some reason I expected there to be more than 5 teams.

The era of Alabama being able to cheat better than anybody else is over. Rosters can’t be that deep now when other schools have revenue sharing.

I do too. But we are never going to get back to a pre NIL.

Do you honestly think Lane is the best coach in the country... considering all of the coaches in the NFL and college football as well as "retired" coaches who could have come back and coached again if they wanted?

You are a joke if you believe that this is true right now. Today.

Lane has about the same record as Kelley. He has never coached a playoff game.

There are plenty others that have with established resumes.

Sure, he might work out. He also may crash and burn.

But y’all are drunk with hype.

Just opposite of what you say. And I'm dumbfounded you say it.

OK - that second part ? I am not surprised at all.

No team will "emerge" in todays NCAA. Which is what scares every booster now.

Its parity like college ball has never seen. You don't get to pretend you are "better" just because of your brand anymore.

That's right. Kiffin said the right things at his press conference by kissing the fans asses and saying they have "the best NIL program in the country ".

That is so much bullshite.

OSU
MICH
ND
TX
GA
A&M
TT
INDIANA
OREGON

I could keep going up to 30-40 programs who spend ridiculous sums of money.
The days of the transcendent coaches and teams is over.
Indiana has just as good of a shot as anyone in winning a title this year...hell, TT has a good shot.

A&M can't stay focused for 4 quarters. I think they win their first game and then out in the 2nd round.

LSU will be good. If not next year, most likely the year after. Will they sustain it....not likely.
