Lane has always been an LSU kind of a-hole and he’s finally home

I hate the hire and I’ve said as much over the last couple weeks. I think it’ll end up being a disaster, but my word the melts on here might be worth it

I am not sure what to think about this hire.

But it should be entertaining in some form or
fashion.

It is a good fit. Kiffin is the perfect coach for underdog programs, not blue bloods. We see what he did at USC.

They can't seem to decide if it's going to be a disaster and massive buyout or if Lane will leave in two years.

Some say both

I think because LSU’s floor isn’t remarkably low the past 35 years or so, many do not realize how historically bad Kelly was here.

In a span of only 4 years, he managed the worst statistical offense and defense in school history (separate seasons). Still came out with a heisman & division championship.

Kiffin is the most competent coach since Saban & is likely to wreck shite here. At minimum, regular playoff appearances.

What do you realistically expect with Kelly's tenure?

Being serious: 7 or 8 good years. 2-3 major runs, and a lot of consistency, discipline, and organization.

had i known he would hit the golf course immediately i would have had a different pick. he still won 70% of his games coaching from the fairway.

Lane is much younger and more driven

you know all of this though and are arguing in bad faith

Lane is a good hire. LSU and Lane are both combustible. Will probably work well, at some point will probably be bad fireworks, maybe both sides will get through it and knock it out of the park.

You guys do have a tendency to make everything into the worst or the best, not much in between. Lane is a good coach and will likely do a good job at LSU. The questions are how good, how consistent and in the event of things not going great during a year how will each side handle each other.

Like I said, two combustible substances. Could be the highest of highs and very quickly after the lowest of lows.

Lord knows it will be entertaining as hell. I expect he’ll be very good.
