does that knock the Rebs out of the playoffs? (lot's of 2 loss teams for the committee to consider this year)
and if that happens, does LSU REALLY want a coach that couldn't beat Mississippi State with a playoff berth on the line

To be fair, he couldn’t beat Florida last year with a playoff birth on the line. And that was after losing to 4-8 Kentucky at home.
Losing to State today wouldn’t be all that surprising. Wanting to pay the coach $14 million after watching him continuously take those losses? That’s surprising.

Dude i was in the stadium when State tied OM 17 - 17 when OM had Big Archie at Qb. MSU is an improved team this year

If the committee is consistent, yes. They dropped Bama 6 spots for losing to a top 15 OU team, and they dropped Texas 7 spots for losing to UGA. State would be a worse loss than OU or UGA, so they’d drop at least 7 spots.
