That’s not the question but I seriously doubt that

Simmons the better player.
Howell having the better season.
Howell having the better season.

Howell had to work for it. Simmons is an overrated player who takes plays off

Based on what? Do you think Simmons didn’t have to work for it at Duncanville and to get where he is as a sophomore?

I think Howell’s really good. I think he should be a first round pick, but I think Simmons is on a different level. He reminds me of another Aggie von Miller, similar size and explosive first step off the edge there’s nobody that has a burst in college football like Colin Simmons

Simmons is a stud. No doubt about it. He’s just always been a known commodity.
Howell has just worked his arse off from more humble beginnings to where he is today.

He has definitely worked his arse off that is for sure. I don’t think anyone had him being one of the top sack leaders going into this season.

What’s up with Dylan Stewart at South Carolina? Is he injured? He hasn’t done anything this year. People were trying to hype like he was as good as Simmons before the season.

Stewart is still a good player. He’s just on a bad team.

South Carolina has the best edge … he’s been hurt for a lot of the season but he is a beast .

Talented yes, but definitely not the best edge

The one who has better coaching.

He had a good game against us, caused the fumble returned for a TD on a crazy athletic play.

I’m picking the player that has the better defensive schemes called for them. Elko is your worst nightmare with players that fit his scheme. Elko predicts offensive schemes very well and adjusts his scheme extremely well as he sees the offense. Once he sees the offensive play calls coaches have said “It’s like they know the plays”.
So if Simmons played for Elko he would be the better player. Howell is a great player but what makes him lethal is Elko devising devastating ways to use his talents.

Simmons is really good but he is not at #2 overall Pick who is going to the HOF and is one of the few defensive players to win an NFL MVP award type player. Miller was just an absolute cheat code his last year at A&M as well and was the catalyst for winning multiple games.
Simmons has a better physical makeup than Howell but Howell has been incredibly productive and in diverse ways. Had 3 sacks in a row in a game. Had 2 PBU's in a row. Then he does stuff like at the end of South Carolina where he dropped into coverage and adjusted to track down Sellers on a 4th down run to ice the game. Dude is a baller.
Simmons is definitely a player that concerns me though, he must be accounted for on every play. He knows how to get to the QB and he's quick as hell.
I do think the overall DLine for A&M is better though and that helps Howell, if you focus on him too much others will get you.

I think Simmons is the better player. Has more upside but I’m not trading Howell for him.

I remember ATM opening the bank trying to get him to commit. Overrated yea right!!

If you watch teams are using 3 players to block Stewart.
