If USC can claim 2003, Auburn can claim 2004. There is no difference.

Take it up with Notre Dame, they are the ones that started that shite. If you just want to count from 1936 forward, I'm fine with that. Alabama has 12.

Yep. The others are as legit as any anyone else besides Auburn claims.
