This FSU team really sucks. Hard to see how they won five games this year.

Outside of Bama their other 4 wins are E Texas A&M, Kent State, Wake Forest, and Virginia Tech

Lucky for them, Alabama beats itself sometimes.

Beating yourself was last Saturday.

First week of the season, don't think you even bothered to show up for the fight.

It was just a joke. Players weren't ready for the game, I don't think DeBoer is use to big openers or something.

FSU does not count as a big opener, they are the worst team in the ACC 2 years in a row

Clemson and Florida State are both currently 5-5.

They still rank around 24th in all the computer power rankings. They were doing well until they lost to Virginia, then they had the 6 point loss to Miami and the 3 point loss to Pitt.

Kind of sunk them I think.

Mix of FPI / SP+ has them more like ~30, but yeah, its a talented team. They just have shite culture. They looked scared after the Virginia game, and completely gave up after the Pitt game. But they are still getting whipped by all the shitty teams

Computers are predictive, not an assessment of a "good" team. The same way Auburn and Penn St are highly regarded by computers despite losing a shitload of games

I have about come to the conclusion that the Bama players was looking at the record that FSU had from last season which was about 2 wins. So they didn’t properly respect the opponent. Then throw in that it was the first game of the year so FSU had all offseason to prepare. Then they hired Malzahn that has faced Bama before and was probably getting those guys pumped up to play against Bama and got those players excited while Bama was just treating the game like it was some 2 win FCS school. Mix all that together and you get a bad loss. It’s the only thing I can come up with that makes any sense.

Auburn is right there next to them.

It's power rankings, not season ranks. So like with Auburn you played a bunch of tough teams(9th toughest schedule) and barely lost most of the games, outside Kentucky.

So it sees Auburn as a tough team even though you have a bunch of losses.

Season ranks would never put either of you anywhere near #25.
