They banned open flames back in 2008 when Uncle Bertrand had too many fireballs and while talking to a pretty lady leaned on the grill, burned his hand, and then in a quick reaction slung the grill onto a dog.

I honestly can't remember but the cars in the Grove almost killed the oak trees from compacted soil. They did a long project to save them. People still loved the Grove and wanted to be there anyway, so they started bringing lawn chairs. Once those tents came out, it just took off. Hell, the Grove may very well be the reason why that product was so successful.
