Saw this article. Interesting, if true. Trouble with Arkansas is they have zero NIL game and it shows. Until they address that, the Hogs will always be mediocre at best and it's not going to matter who they get as a HC. IMO, Sam Pittman was a good HC (and a decent human being) but he learned this the hard way.

This shouldn't be an issue for them.

They have the Walton family in Arkansas and one of their alums is Jerry Jones who has a net worth of $15.2 billion.

Having said that, hiring Gruden would be a disaster. He runs an outdated offense, has no recruiting experience and is propped up by a Super Bowl that happened 23 years ago.

For some reason people go absolutely gaga for this dude who hasn’t been a college coach in close to 40 years, hasn’t been a decent pro coach in close to 20 years and in the overall scheme of things has a very mediocre track record. I think it’s because people are in love with his personality more than his actual abilities.

Now that would be funny. And a better fit for Arky.

Funny yes, better fit, ehhh...Dabo for all intents is a cheerleader on the sidelines and with all the high/low emotions of one...he doesn't play the portal game and his track record has steadily declined since skeletor took the OU job...he could probably get them 7-8 wins a year which would definitely be a improvement.

Let me clarify, better fit than Chuckie for Arky.

The game, both the way it’s played and administered, has passed Dabo by just like it’s passed Mike Gundy by.

Raiders fan here. I recently watched Gruden coach. The things I always thought Gruden would be bad at in college coaching are somewhat negated by NiL

That being said, he actually has a really bad eye for talent. When he’s given front office control he drafted terribly. Maybe that’s offset a bit by the talent gap in college being smaller. You see 3 star teams do well with great coaching.

I also think bringing in a name like that probably opens up the pocketbooks for the Waltons and the Tysons. I’d hire him over Dabo.

I would pass on both who are gonna have hefty price tags for 6-9 wins a year and hire a good g5 coach. Even if the NIL coffers opened up with a Dabo/Gruden hire, i don't see either being able to hire a qualified staff to recruit the talent needed to be able to compete for the league/playoff spots.

They also have the chairman of Tyson foods and JB Hunt was founded and is based out of Arkansas.
