With HC's I dont think its as simple as "best" - fit matters a lot for coaches
For blue blood programs, Kirby and Day are the clear top 2. Only coaches who have proven they can handle the pressure and win consistently, while also never getting blown out
For non blue blood programs, Cignetti and Kiffin are the clear top 2, its a different skill set to quickly take a below average team to the top. Im not sure how either of them would do at a bigger job where the boosters dont treat them like heroes and the schools tell them to watch their mouths. We wont find out for Cignetti, but maybe with Kiffin soon

Check out what Florida Atlantic and The Sip were prior to Kiff.

When he wins a national championship, come back in here and give him his props. He’s not even close to Kirby or Ryan Day

Um..no..Tell me you do not know Football at all please. Day is easily number 2 without question.

I’m factoring in that OSU is probably the easiest job in the country to win at, at least in the regular season. Everyone wins there. Kiff has turned a bottom dweller into a national title contender.

Umm, Venables is probably at least 50% of the reason Clemson has two national championships, maybe more. He had to pick up the garbage left prior to him getting to Oklahoma, and he has just won at Tennessee and Alabama in their houses. Let me know when Cignetti accomplishes that.

When was Venables the head coach at Clemson? I must have missed that.
Just a month ago, all of the Sooner fans on here wanted him gone lol.

UGA is not a blue blood.
No, but its a high resource school that is a more desirable job than several blue bloods today

It's had to believe LSU fired a coach, like Kelly, with a .729 lifetime winning percentage. There are just a very few current coaches with better %'s than that.
They must be crazy.

Elko easily.
Since 92 SEC teams are now 1-366 when trailing by 27 points.
Flipped 8-4 from A&M to Texas. Broke LSU resulting in a clown show.

Who will be the next SEC HC to be fired? Yes there will be another one. Maybe make a deal to walk away will be it. I am thinking Sarkisian.

I think it’s Deboer but that could be because our coach can’t beat him.
I should probably feel fortunate that we haven’t had to play Kiffin yet
