We have won 9 of 17 at Auburn since 1989. When we lost they were 8-4 or better. The following list is the year we lost and Auburn’s record that year.

2019 9-4
2017 10-4
2013 12-1
2010 14-0
1997 10-3
1995 8-4
1993 11-0
1989 10-2

We have never lost at Auburn to a team with a losing record. They do not have the luck you think they do.

I dont think anyone on here is scared of another team. We're more worried about the direction of our school.

A lot of facts, but some of those bad Auburn teams took very good Alabama teams to the wire.

Alabama win in Auburn in 99, 01, 09, 11, 15, 21 and 23.

If we limit mistakes we win. However, there have been a lot of great streaks come to an end under DeBoer. So just because it’s never happened I wouldn’t put much stock in that.

Who gives a shite? Different teams, players, coaches, etc. Nothing that happened in those years has any bearing on what's going to happen in two weeks.

It's fine to joke about "voodoo in JHS" but it's really sad that some posters actually believe that shite.

Real competitors relish that the chances at the SEC CG and CFP come down to one final game against fAU. I'm very glad I didn't play football with the many weak-minded fans on this board melting about it.

Right ? I can’t believe that the people who moderate this site haven’t banned that Auburn troll from this site. How many times does he have to post stuff like this before action is taken ?

The stakes are big and the new staff's track record on the road against bad teams leaves something to be desired. I get the fretting to some degree but, as I said elsewhere on this board, I'm not going to piss and shite myself for two weeks over a 4-6 Auburn team.

True, but you might find this team lacking.

The only games Alabama has won in Jordan-Hare that were runaway victories were the 2001 game (31-7) and the 2011 game (42-14). Our other wins in Jordan-Hare have looked like the following:

1999: Alabama wins against a 5-5 Auburn squad 28-17, but trailed 14-8 heading into the fourth quarter.

2001: Already mentioned; blowout.

2009: Alabama trailed 21-20 in the final minutes of the game against a 7-4 Auburn squad. McElroy led a game-winning drive, scoring with 85 seconds left to play to take the lead. Alabama wins 26-21.

2011: Already mentioned; blowout.

2015: Alabama led 19-13 against a 6-5 Auburn squad until about midway through the fourth quarter. The score was 22-13 until Henry scored a TD with 26 seconds remaining in the game to make the score appear more lopsided than it was.

2021: Alabama trailed 10-3 with 87 seconds left in the game against a 6-5 Auburn squad. Young had to lead Alabama 97 yards down the field in that time to tie the game and win it in overtime 24-22.

2023: Alabama trailed 24-20 against a 6-5 Auburn team with 43 seconds to go on a 4th & Goal play from the 31-yard line. Isaiah Bond miraculously caught it in the back of the end zone to give Alabama the lead with 32 seconds to play.

No, actually I don't. If there's one thing this team does, it's COMPETE. They may not always play the best or execute perfectly, but they don't give up (unlike some fans who have already convinced themselves we're losing in two weeks).

It will almost certainly be a miserable experience.

We will also *likely* win (though not guaranteed obviously).

That is the general plot of a game at Auburn against a bad Auburn team.

You’re responding to a poster that’s probably not even a Bama fan. He’s never said a single good thing about Bama since he’s been on this site

I think the fact their offense looked better after Freeze worries some people. Vandy doesn't have a great defense, but seeing any competency from their offense suddenly is a tad concerning.

Flip side is the D looked worse...but that was an anomaly. Pavia has made them look bad 3 years in a row.
We're going to face a very good, hungry defense.

Yep. Same with BOL. That site has trolls all over it. I got banned a while back for calling them out. So I have no doubt that they pay people to sit on there to stir the pot and drive traffic.

Hoping we roll an "Already mentioned; blowout." and frankly the circumstances are closer to 2011 scenario than 2009, 2015, 2021, or 2023. Chizik was not going to be fired in 2011 but the program was already souring realizing that 2010 was a flash in the pan not a program launcher.

2009, 2021, and 2023 were first year head coaches who were looking for a program establishing win and they clearly put all their effort into making it happen with clever offensive play calls and/or niche defenses our staff did not expect.

Furthermore, 2015 was one of those games like the one we had against LSU a few weeks ago. Auburn was never really out of it on the scoreboard but basically only were in a 6 point game in the 4th quarter due to a complete fluke catch tipped by the WR to himself in triple coverage on a 3rd and 12. Auburn was doing nothing but QB protection play calling a game. It was an uneasy game as a fan but Auburn was going to need a lot of help from us including some luck/flukes to win that game. They were incredibly scared of subjecting their QB to our pass rush.

If I had to guess, I bet 2025 will be a lot like 2015. That fits the profile of both of our teams. Auburn has a spotty offensive line and Alabama is not a particularly explosive offense (albeit completely different run/pass balance between the two). However, Alabama is not quite as elite of a defense particularly in pass rush and Auburn's defense is better than 2015 too.

I disagree. Pierre has been terrific as a pass rusher and Overton is terrific. Comparing any defense to 2015 is fools gold. That may have been the most talented defense Alabama has ever had in terms of depth and skill. Go back and look at the names on that unit. Every player on that unit ended up signing an NFL contract.

Right, no knock on Pierre and crew. Especially with Russaw likely being ready to go by the Iron Bowl, this is a great pass rush unit for the 2020s. However they do not compare to 2015 for all the reasons you stated.

No but it is a very good unit and they’ve created good depth playing a lot of players. There’s a good mix of veteran players and exciting young talent.
