How are we feeling about a Le'Veon Moss return?

I'm not plugged in enough to know the rumblings of if/when.

He adds an element that makes our offense particularly deadly. /see goal line O vs Notre Dame.

I'm of the mind that such things as that gimmick Morrow play that ended in disaster probably don't get called on the goal line if a healthy #8 is an option.

Don’t want the coaches to even consider bringing him back until he is 100%

Save him for when it matters

There is the concern that he’s rusty and that we waste downs on him while he gets back up to speed, if that makes sense…

Rusty Moss is still a beast

But I want 100% Mos
Putting him in against little brother in a meaningless game only to have him re injure his ankle would be a travesty

Well…it’s far from meaningless.

I can tell you that Elko and the boys want to make it to the SECCG badly.

Their motto is “finish.” Finish the regular season strong.

I wish they had the stones to sit all the starters to send a message to the SEC that the seccg is meaningless

Why?

This team can go undefeated, and they believe that.

TBH, this program needs that SECCG trophy.

Why can't we experience a little moment of success without getting extremely weird?

Sankey screwed over the SEC and the playoff committee continues to show it doesn’t care about strength of schedule

So I say frick em

11-1 gets us into the playoffs the same as 12-1 and the same as 13-0

Tell that to Texas fans and the recruits.

TBH, it’s a loser mentality. The only possible reason someone would want to skip the SECCG is because they think their team is less likely to win the natty because of it. This team can win out; why not go for all the marbles?

I hope we beat Texas, then shut those entitled Bama fricks up in Atlanta.

If he’s not 100% don’t bring him back. We’re going to the playoffs, I want him fully healthy for the playoff run. If he’s healthy for Texas, play him. If he’s healthy for SECCG play him, but don’t bring him back till he’s full go

I’m not trying to change your mind

I just see this more from a professional sports view
Pro teams don’t risk important players in meaningless games

With the expanded playoffs conference championships are meaningless

I 100% understand what you’re saying, but I’m saying that this game is not meaningless for A&M.

It may be meaningless to a cold NFL franchise (if they had such things), but remember what college football was built on. We haven’t won the SEC ever, and I suspect conference championships will be eliminated in the near future.

Make it, win it, print the damn cups.

It's not professional sports though and conference championships do have meaning, especially because A&M has never won the SEC or even gone to the SECCG. Would a Natty be preferable? Sure, but acting like beating Texas and then winning the SECCG and then losing in the playoff would be meaningless is just incorrect. I mean Ohio State managed to lose to Michigan and come and win the Natty last year but that is like saying you want to play in the Wildcard instead of getting a bye to the Divisional round. I mean maybe it works out but that isn't preferable.

Sarge makes a good point and so do you.

In his defense, I bet coaching staffs across the country have pondered sitting players in games like this because of the new playoff system.

That said: CFB is built on tradition and emotion more so than the NFL, so I don't see it happening very often, though there is logic in it. Maybe it'll happen more as time moves on.

The main holdback in college is recruiting.. rival coaches can dangle that feather in the hat to potential recruits.

I’d rather win the SECCG and lose in the first round of the playoffs than not make the SECCG, win a first round playoff game then lose in the second round of the playoffs

Moss plays when he's near 100%, conference championship or not.

There will be some rust to knock off but as soon as he is ready he goes, no sooner/later.
