Can Georgia pass downfield or rush the passer?

Haven't watched much of Georgia this year but I was really surprised at their complete lack of downfield passing and almost non-existent pass rush against a bad Texas OL.
The running game looked good and Kirby made some gutsy calls so im not saying Georgia is not a good team. But I was surprised that they couldnt push the ball down the field or get pressure on the QB.
I know A&M has weaknesses and our schedule sucks but would love to hear some thoughts about Georgia.

99.99% of your fans weren’t alive the last time you won a natty.
1939.

I already said we sucked. If you want to talk about A&M there are 500 other threads you can post on. I was trying to get some Georgia talk going.

What mother freaking game were you watching?

To answer your question. UGA gave up 23 yds rushing and actually did affect QB. Gunner is very efficient. Our #1 deep guy is out. We def don't take a lot of shots but we control the clock. And we don't turn it over much. We are not flashy but we are very good at winning football games.

Dude.. UGA was after Manning’s arse all night.

We weren’t down by 27 to a terrible team so didn’t have to go full desperation mode like TAMU. Congrats on your thrilling comeback from behind win.

Every team they’ve faced has been in Arch’s face. He was sacked 6 times vs Kentucky. He just can’t process a defense in the required time. He’s not good. But They are screwed because he has to start. Sark is fricked lol

If you are serious, it has been an evolving thing. But sinc you haven't watched I'll say this. Georgia is not a team that has one identity and that is how they have to beat you. They have demonstrated they can beat you ugly, they can pound it on the ground and yes, if you want to have a shootout they are perfectly capable of beating you that way...ask Lane.

All A&M all the time with this guy

The terrible team everyone was saying should’ve beaten Bama, who beat you?

Yes. You were down 27 to South fricking Carolina. Of course you threw for a billion yards, you had to.
Congrats on your season.

Yeah it was a serious question. Haven't watched much of Georgia this year. I will say Kirby impressed me with the 4th down call and onside kick. That just completely changed the momentum after Texas got close.
Obviously he is one of if not the best in the game.

We are doing pretty good. 10 wins in a row is a feat.

That 23 yard stat is deceiving. Texas first hand off went for 16. They rushed for 6 yards a carry on that drive. Then they just abandoned it altogether. Our running backs have been banged up for seemingly years now and are on shadow pitch counts. I also thought our offensive line played really well in offensive passing downs. They picked up blitz well and never gave up any free shots. I was actually encouraged, that’s back to back games where Arch actually had some time to scan the field.

It is, I’ve said congrats twice now.

complete lack of downfield passing
Stockton vs Texas: 229 yds, 4 passing TDs, 1 rushing TD = 25 point win
Uh, nitpick if you want to, but I'll take this every time.

I saw the same thing. Texas OL did a nice job and the RBs picked up the blitz well. Arch had a decent amount of time. Maybe things changed in the 4th quarter when I turned it off.

A lot of that passing was dump offs in the flat or short passes though. Didn't see any downfield passing threats though I guess you didn't need them. I just didn't see much of a vertical passing game at all.
And 220 yards isn't very impressive in the modern era.
