We are 10 games into the 2025 season and here is the ugly truth: our leading rusher is Jam with 348 yards on 97 carries for a 3.6 yard average. Let that sink in. Riley is next with 186 yards on 48 carries for 3.9 a carry. Daniel Hill is 3rd with 164 yards on 44 carries for 3.7. Our longest run is 56 yards by AK Dear. Among our 3 leaders, the long is the 28 yarder yesterday by Hill. Germie Bernard has the best YPC at 6.1. (I’m excluding Dear who only has 7 touches and the outlier 56 yard run) We have had 15 rushers total this season for 1087 yards. You have to combine our top 7 rushers to reach 1,000 yards.

Really ugly.

I think we let Hill takeover. I saw more upside there.

In my mind, the fact that Riley has just a few less yards than Jam and hasn't had a meaningful carry in 3 games says volumes.

Where the hell has Kevin Riley been ?! He was an effective change of pace back.

Miller has been seeing ghosts since his concussion. He dances, doesn't see any daylight, and even sometimes cuts back against the design of the play. Lately he hasn't even been blocking or receiving well. He needs to sit until he's healthy.

He totally whiffed on the sack in our opening drive. Didn’t even lay a finger on their player.

Unacceptable and people need to be unemployed today.

Hill looked like he was limping by the end of the game, I hope he's ready from here on out.

Give him this week off, and honestly a lot of starters. Get ready for Auburn.

I agree. I think there was actually a positive from this game and it’s that we have a running game developing with Hill. We just need to increase the percent of the time he’s in the game versus the 50/50 spilt he currently shares with Jam.

Hill is effective but we need a counter punch like with Dear. He was exhausted at the end of the game. Like he looked so damn slow a few times when he some room. He’s a battering ram and is effective. But we need someone with juice. Jam is just bad. Isn’t strong inside the tackles, elusive. Or quick

Jam is also slow. Like he isn't quick, not speed burst and probably runs a high 4.6 for speed.

Some of those runs could have broke but his slow arse can't get around the corner and let's those safeties close so quickly

So many of those corner runs looked like they had the potential for big gains but only went for 7 yards. Mindblowing how we can’t even get a busted tackle and or something to get a big gain on the ground. The lack of explosiveness from RBs and WRs is baffling.

Part of it is the safeties playing so far forward they are like LBs. If they played deeper they wouldn't be able to get to Brooks on that 4th down play, etc.

Part of it is Jam is slow, not that quick so he doesn't have the confidence to bounce the ball outside and turn a 4 yard gain into 10

Again, where is the combination of running backs and offensive linemen currently on our roster that fixes the problem immediately?

I don’t have an answer for the OL. It’s going to take some serious recruiting, portal work and probably a new position coach to fix that.

I don’t have a great answer for the RB situation but I know a handoff to Jam Miller is a wasted down and it needs to stop. Hill has at least shown an ability to fall forward and not lose 2 yards every carry. He needs to be RB1. He does have some blocking issues in pass pro, but that is fixable. I would also like to know where Riley has been? Is he injured? He was a good change of pace back earlier in the season. AK Dear showed some burst on his few touches too. I know most of them probably need to work on their blocking but work them in some just for a change of pace and maybe a spark in the run game.

We’ve got some serious issues running the ball but it’s the definition of insanity to keep handing it to Miller and expect a different result. Injuries really messed him up mentally and he’s not running like he is capable. Until he rectifies that, we need to use Jam to rest Hill, not the other way around.

We got a game where it would be good to give a young tailback some early snaps with the 1s to see how he performs in all aspects of the position.

IMO if the coaching staff doesn’t treat Saturday as a very important game, not so much as far as winning or losing but working on some things, they are making a big mistake.

Don't know if you can take anything away from the running backs vs EI
