Some folks act like Ty is not an issue right now. That it is all on Grubb or the Oline. There is plenty of blame to go around. But, even the staff was concerned about his play in the FLST game. He was tight and not executing. So, they sent him a message. "Loosen up and play better, because we are going to take a look at Mac." Ty woke up and played great for a while. He is back to playing tight and scared. Physically, he is just not executing.

I wonder if the staff decides to take another look at Mac next week in the cream puff game.

One can debate the pick-6 and the strip-sack due to garbage line play. But, the overthrows and under throws and missed throws are on Ty. He still could have won us this game. Ty in his right mind does.

He played fine, so I would fathom they do nothing.

The one gripe I have is that on the fumble, we optioned into a very weird package with two guys down the boundary. The play called for rolling left (you can see the line drop to give protection for a roll) and then throw it to Bernard deep. It wasn't a great playcall. I get the point of the play but it just felt excessive and one dimensional

Loss is mostly on Ty and the OC. He looked terrible against LSU as well.

Grubb basically sent one last week against LSU when Ty was complaining about the run game and he told journalists we could run better if our QB would stretch the field.

People really don't understand how hard it is to run when every defense doesn't even cover deep because they know our QB can't accurately throw it deep.

It's basically puts everyone within a box and our play caller has to exploit different ways of scheming someone open in the box while the opponent DC is trying to mess that up.

If Ty could throw an accurate fade route we could use Isiah Horton's size!

Safeties would have to stay deep instead of crowding and coming down hill once the ball is snapped.

Are we ignoring the 50 yard punt return from a dead to rights tackle? The fumble in our own red zone on a punt return?.... The missed field goal?

Special teams lost us the game. The offense coughed up 10 points but it also threw 21 on the table and gave us a shot at 24.

There were some questionable decisions by Grubb and Ty, but at the end of the day that wasn't what damned us the most.

Obviously Ty had a tough game but we have nothing to help him out on. Not sure how much we can even effectively grade him on when he has to carry the entire offense

One could say much the same about the Florida State game. There were drops. We abandoned the run. Some poor blocking. But, at the end of the day, the staff felt like Ty didn't play up to standard, so they sent a message by telling him they were giving Mac a series early in the first half.

I think that, along with some other issues, Ty has played below standard for several weeks now. Jam ended up losing playing time because of his substandard play. I can't help but wonder if the staff isn't looking at Ty and thinking, "we can get better play than this." I think their offense really kind of relies on high level qb play. The future of this team rides on how well the qb plays. Ty probably plays better when he has a little bit of a chip on his shoulder and a nothing to lose mentality.

Film review? Don’t you know that Jim Bob sitting in his La-Z-Boy in his den in front of his 100-inch TV screen with a six-pack of Michelob in him knows a thousand times more about REAL football than all these high-priced coaches?

Yeah because throwing a pick six and then fumbling to give Oklahoma the field goal position to kick the winner is not his fault.

It's not his fault his passes are inaccurate.

It's not his fault he was warned by the head coach and OC to not hold the ball yet held the ball.

It's not his fault he can't accurately throw the ball past 30 yards so no one fears our deep ball and every team plays close to the line of scrimmage.

It's not hus fault even the intermediate passes he was perfect from he can't even hit consistently anymore.

It's not his fault!

The offense netted 11 points in a 60 minute game and an additional interception was rakem from the board by an irrelevant Oklahoma penalty.

???? Even ignoring all of the turnovers how can people ignore all of the wide open receivers he has been missing.

Those are drive killers.

Yeah, all the *true* gurus of film review are telling us that Ty is playing great. It's not his fault.

Absolutely there's blame to go around. The special teams were atrocious. The line has had some bad play at times. But Ty has shown some serious issues lately. Yes, he is cerebral and can get us into the right play, or adjust the protection. He's light years better in that regard to what we had last year. But, it is undeniable that he's having head problems.

His deep throws are just bad. One throw to a wide open Cuevas should have been a walk in TD. Yet, Ty was so nervous that he under threw the ball and Cuevas had to slow down to catch it. The OK defender was able to catch up to Cuevas and tackle him. Fortunately we scored anyway. On the last drive two of his throws were sophomore Jalen Hurts bad. These are throws Ty can absolutely make and should have made.

Ty did not lose the game on his own, but he certainly could have won it and didn't.

Again, after the FLST game the staff saw issues with Ty. He was uptight and made dumb mistakes. They sent a message and he responded and played like a Heisman contender. He's not playing anywhere close to that right now. Funny how many of the people who will demand perfection from our coaches will settle for very average from our quarterback.

*Cue* "Our coaches are responsible for making the players great." Okay, well benching players can help make that happen. It did before.

I believe Ty can be very, very good. We've all seen it. But, we have also seen that he has been very not so good since Missouri. He's holding on to the ball looking for big plays instead of taking what he has given to him. He's throwing a stupid ball up like he did on the last drive when he was getting sacked. That ball should have been intercepted.

Ty needs a knot jerked in his tail.

This is why he should have played more last year. He's getting his 1st introduction to this kind of pressure. We need to get our back qbs playing time. Otherwise we are gonna have the same thing happen next year.
