I feel like for all the heat he got he made some amazing hires against the odds in revenue sports and handled the obviously difficult politics of LSU better than LSU’s last AD.

He’s a polarizing figure in the history of LSU sports lore

Joe Alleva is a piece of shite who should have faced some charges.

quote:

In the beginning of the Duke lacrosse case, on April 5, 2006, Joe Alleva forced Duke lacrosse coach Mike Pressler to resign under threat and faced criticism for his handling of the case. In 2008, Alleva announced he was leaving Duke for the athletic director position at Louisiana State University

quote:

On April 11, 2007, North Carolina attorney general Roy Cooper dropped all charges, declaring the three lacrosse players "innocent" and victims of a "tragic rush to accuse".[9][10] Cooper described Nifong as a "rogue prosecutor"; he withdrew from the case in January 2007 after the North Carolina State Bar filed ethics charges against him. In June 2007, Nifong was disbarred for "dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation", making him the first prosecutor in North Carolina disbarred for trial conduct. Nifong served one day in jail for lying about sharing DNA tests (criminal contempt); he had not given results to the defense team. The lab director said it was a misunderstanding and Nifong claimed it was due to weak memory.[11] DNA analysis did not show evidence from any of the accused men; Mangum was not charged for her false allegations

Nifong was jailed. The investigators were relieved of working in law enforcement. The three players were paid huge settlements by Duke.

Alleva ended up at LSU.

The supposed victim is in prison for murder.

quote:

Crystal Gail Mangum (born July 18, 1978)[1] is an American former stripper from Durham, North Carolina, who has been incarcerated for murder since 2013. In 2006, she came to attention in national news reports for having made false allegations of rape[2][3][4] against lacrosse players in the Duke lacrosse rape hoax. Mangum's work in the sex industry as a black woman, while the young men she accused were white, generated extensive media interest and academic debate about race, class, gender, and the politicization of the justice system. In December 2024, Mangum admitted to fabricating the assault.

Maybe LSU is now paying karma back for hiring Joe Alleva when they knew what he did?

The amount of morons on this board is something.

What’s worse is the group of pussies that hired that weak despicable man at LSU.

He should have never worked in sports after what he did at Duke.
