If he leaves it is what it is but with the documentary and multiple articles coming out like this recently, if he does leave people are going to say he is full of shite like always

If he leaves, it would damage his reputation 100x more than leaving Tennessee. The story of abandoning a playoff team, well, he would never be able to escape that.

If he did leave, I would laugh my arse off if we went on and won a title regardless of him, while he tries to replicate the same success at a dumpster fire program.

People keep saying he can’t build a championship roster here forgetting we had a top 3 roster last year. It can be built here, he just shite the bed with the better roster from the last two years

He’s not.

The sooner Sexton joins Logan Young the better though. Dude is a cancer.

As I have said, I am not worried about him leaving. I am enthralled by the information though. I do believe he is staying, however, he cannot play this out to the detriment of our program. That's a line that can't be crossed and we are getting extremely close to it.

Wouldn’t be the first time. Probably won’t be the last.

That line about his dad saying he was proud of him was cool. He’s definitely talking out of both sides of his mouth, keeping his options open. We’ll see where he lands.

Yep. But he's going to look really bad to a lot of average CFB fans across the nation if he leaves after the quotes in this article and the documentary just a couple months ago.

"But he's going to look really bad to a lot of average CFB fans across the nation"

Not really, not in todays college football environment. In fact "fans across the nation" are wondering why he hasn't left already. Also most marriages end in divorce everybody understands that and we never had the leverage to get him to sign a prenuptial (with a substantial $$ leave provision).

In the article he all but says directly that he didn't expect to stay at OM long term when he was hired. The truth is none of us expected him to stay permanently either. But we wanted to ride anyway, so we did.

If he leaves he will highlight the historic football success during his tenure (what we got) and credit us for the personal growth he experienced in Oxford (what he got). It will be a true Hallmark channel moment because there is really no good way to say goodbye. LOL

Here is the thing for me, if he stays wonderful, we still have the biggest and sexist brand name coach in college football.

If he is goes it should only be after we raise the auction bid paddle at least a couple of times to make sure that in the frenzy the "winner" has paid dearly for his services. That is not to help Lane (remember he doesn't care about money) but to go in dry on Florida/LSU. If this is done properly we can be satisfied and content with our post departure hate especially if things do not go well for him and his new boyfriend.

Up until this year - yeah everyone expected him to leave. But between the documentary, similar articles, the push to change how he's viewed, walking into the playoffs this year.... A lot of CFB fans are now saying "why the frick would he leave since OM can match what he'll get elsewhere". Before this year, yeah he leaves and it is what it is. But now, the public I think would be like "WTF Lane, he's clearly never going to change and the documentary / quotes was all for a fake PR show".

True but all of that goblety asian supports his personal journey narrative. I guess I am more cynical. Either way he is building NIL for Ole Miss as we speak.

This doesn't exist anywhere that I am aware of. $3 million is about the standard. Very few are above that and they aren't over $5 million.

Nope. He will be raked over the coals for being the same old Lane Kiffin but this time he abandoned a playoff team.

Judge for yourself: - according to internet?

If Kiffin leaves Ole Miss for another job, his next employer would owe the university a different buyout amount, starting at $3 million after the 2025 season, decreasing in subsequent years

if Lebby leaves for another school, he would owe the university and the Bulldog Club a $6.2 million buyout
.
Here are some other notable voluntary buyout figures:
Dan Lanning (Oregon): $20 million
Curt Cignetti (Indiana): $10 million

One reason i don't see him leaving.. Lane know he had too rebuild that reputation here at Ole Miss.. If he leaves for Gators and we are in the playoffs.. He will not come back from that and recruits will see that and hurt him building any at FL. I am almost sure he is trolling the FL Gators fans more then anything and he is staying..
