For OU it was John Blake in 1998. 27 years ago. And no social media back then.

Curious if any other SEC schools have a longer timeline.

November 2019

Thank God for Elijah Moore and the Piss and Miss.

The greatest recent example I can think of of a team losing the battle but winning the war

You guys have had a cpuple of coaches quit though...oddly enough.

23 coaches in your entire history. That's impressive imo.

Alabama has had 28 head coaches with one interim.

Meanwhile auburn has had 28 coaches in one semester

What year was last time your school's head coach left your program voluntarily?

2023 (Jimbo), before that it was 2017 (Sumlin), before that it was 2011 (Sherman), before that it was 2007 (Fran).

RC technically retired in 2002 and Jackie dipped some allegations before that in the late 80s, so I'm not exactly sure when last we fired a coach before 2007? I think Tom Wilson in 1981.

UGA has had 26 total in 133 years. 7 in the last 88 years and 1 of those lasted 2 seasons and 2 lasted 5?

Wally Butts, Vince Dooley, Mark Richt and Kirby Smart have combined for 76 of the last 88 years. .615, .715, .740 and a gaudy .850 winning % respectively.

I think you should redo this one. What's worse? Firing your coach or having a successful think another job is better?

What if he thought the job was better because he is a giant vagina, and in fact, the job wasn't better?

I get that, but the fact is he thought it was better. That's rare. How many of the rest of us with recent success like OU have had that happen?

Tennessee has had 27 coaches. Several were when General Neyland was called away for military duty.

Fulmer was UT's 22nd head coach. We have had 5 since him.

Why? Thats a different topic. With all the SEC firings I was curious what the next best last firing date was. It seems OU doesn’t fire as hastily as other teams.
