In only 1 week AU went from scoring 3 points at home vs UK to scoring 38 @ Vandy

This fact alone perfectly illustrates just how mind boggling horrible Freeze was as a HC. We will never know how much the 2025 Auburn Tigers could have accomplished without the albatross of Hugh Freeze hung around their neck.

I started to mention that as well. But I don’t blame Arnold. He did the best he could. I blame Freeze for naming him QB1.
And I don’t know if it’s true, but I’ve heard freeze had the opportunity to get Pavia when he decided to transfer from NM State and passed on him. And I’ve heard Cam Ward had interest in AU when he went in the portal from Washington State, so another failure by Hugh.

He was desperate to get back into the SEC. But his problem is the SEC has evolved since he left Ole Miss in 2016. Defenses have adapted to his scheme and Hugh could not, or would not, adjust.

The solution for Auburn is obvious.
Save yourself the trouble and expense of looking for Mr. Goodbar and hire Durkin. He accomplished in one week what Freeze could not do in three seasons, namely that he motivated his team and was well prepared.
