Non Sec but looking at OH ST Schedule

Should they just go ahead and get an automatic Bye for the first playoff game every year? Top 3 in NIL spending , No competition in area recruiting, two tough regular season games a year , conference has maybe 3 top teams a year, six or seven games a year against teams that are far inferior etc.... They could play their backups every second half just to have them ready come playoff time. Rant over.

You woke up this morning and had Ohio state on the brain! What you want them to do to improve things?

They shouldn’t be in top 10 based on that schedule alone.

I agree the BIG needs to balance schedules better.
Never fear, in 2026 we rotate back to the harder schedule

It’s a narrative like any other. Media guys and fans love to reverse engineer why their team can’t win but others can. In the bcs era when sec teams were dominating the narrative was osu can’t win one bc their schedule is too weak, they aren’t battle tested, so they can’t handle the pressure of a big time game like sec teams. Bc every sec game is playoff atmosphere. Good teams win. Good teams win against soft and hard schedules. It’s that easy sometimes

Their whole schedule is a bye. Don't give them an extra one.

Just imagine if Alabama had to play an ACC schedule. They might never win again

Where are the hard games? Those teams are mediocre at best.

Well, 6 of them are ranked this week.
LSU only playing 5 currently ranked teams this year

Ohio State's current 12 game winning streak includes 3 wins over sec teams, including making your 3rd best team look like a mac team last december. Our backups would see playing time against half the sec teams also.

I'm an LSU fan what else is there to do? Worry about a team that will probably go 6-6 or a coach search that will probably end up with the 7th choice? I'm trying to forget my team troubles right now. OH ST was my choice.

Here’s the confusing part. If a team from the SEC run the gauntlet and wins the championship, they will have earned it. But if some team from another conference wins it, well it has to be because they were well rested and didn’t get a challenge but got hot in the playoffs. This is a stupid arse argument.

The fact that you call this the "harder" schedule is the problem.

Well 6 of them are ranked this week.
Go through the SEC and tell me whose schedule has more than 6 teams currently ranked this week
Alabama-5
Georgia-5
A&M- 3
Miss-2

Texas had a chance to deliver them a huge blow in week 1 and they blew it. Texas let the entire conference down

What is OSU's strength of schedule this season ?
Posted on 11/5/25 at 8:37 am to kajunman
I agree. Only 3 ranked teams on this years schedule. Similar to A&M.
