There will be a group of Louisiana citizens who object to their tax money being wasted in this manner.
Not even considering the fact that Scott Woodward is a well connected Democrat, a Judge will be cherry picked to put the lawsuit before, and any idea of innocent taxpayers being on the hook to pay for this fiasco will be dead as a door nail.
Tiger boosters are gonna pay every red cent of these buyouts.

You people are dumber than our governor. The state was never gonna foot the bill . Never in the history of LSU athletics has the state and the tax payers EVER footed the bill for a coach that was owed money after being fired. Why are you people this stupid? It’s an honest question. We understand that Governor Landry is a moron , but why are so many on this board more retarded than he is?

Dude, I live in Louisiana and government money isn't going to be used to pay anything relating to BK's salary. The governor didn't say it would, he said "taxpayers are going to have to foot the bill", which technically he's right. A private citizen or two will be taking their money and funding the buyout. They are taxpayer's of Louisiana using their money to fund the buyout. He didn't say "tax money" will be used to fund the buyout. It's confusing semantics, but trust me, tax money WILL NOT fund any part of that buyout.

“Brian Kelly’s contract was with the Board of LSU, it’s in the first paragraph, and LSU is a subdivision of the State. This makes the State liable for any debt.
Thus, putting the ultimate responsibility on the backs of Louisiana taxpayers.
As I stated, that is why public officials would be concerned with these contracts.”

BK was never going to get it done for y’all. I said so in January. So he definitely needed to go. But I’m not convinced Woodward’s head needed to roll. He has put y’all in good shape with other coaches. Plus he’s a hometown guy.
It seems like Landry has a beef with Woodward that pre-dates anything that’s happened over the last week.
Your governor is making this a bigger mess than it needs to be.
My hope is that A&M and LSU buyouts will serve as a cautionary tale and we will see a market reset on how coaching contracts are structured…but it’ll mean overcoming a stupid precedent that’s been set. So I’m not optimistic.
