2025 is more complete.

2012 was Johnny trying to figure out how to play college QB at the start of the season with Sherman's leftover beasts on OLine plus a capable defense..

2025 we have a stable of RB's and a running QB who has the discipline to play a decent pocket style plus a solid defense. Also 2025 is more physically and mentally tough.

As already said

2025 is a more complete team

Especially defense, Johnny and Mike put up video game numbers partly because they had to

2025. This is the most balanced, poised, and justifiably confident Aggie football team I've seen to date. 2012 was electric, but JFF was the straw that stirred the drink. Contain or neutralize him, and A&M had no answer. This '25 team plays ridiculously complementary football.

2012 was a Big 12 team that surprised SEC teams with speed on offense combined with a great O-line, they won the track meet which was required due to how bad the defense was, particularly the back half of it. This 2025 team is a SEC team, a big O-line that just leans on the D the whole game, that pays off in the second half of games. The biggest difference in this team and any other team since we've been in the SEC is the back end of the defense, we've never had quality SEC type of CB's before, Ricks and Lee make all the difference in the world. Run support by the safety's is also greatly improved, how many GIFS were posted on the Rant of our safety's getting destroyed by bigger faster RB's in this league? Some of that is just Elko doing his thing but having the right players to execute is also huge.

2025 team wouldn't have lost that game to Mizzou.

2012 didn't lose to Mizzou? Just LSU and Florida.

2013 lost to Mizzou.

This is the first time since 2012 when I have had real confidence in the Offense, no matter the situation.

The OL allowed the 2012 offense to be great.

This OL is doing the same. It doesn't have the star power of the 2012 OL, and more resembles with he 2020 OL that was also really good, but it's very underrated with all the rightful attention our playmakers are receiving.
