Even so, Kiffin is probably the closest thing to a sure thing out there.

He has beaten one ranked team on the road.

Which he did Saturday afternoon.

But when you get desperate, these coaches look mighty good.

Agree. Let him stay in Oxford and rot away into obscurity

I don't know if he would have worked out here, and I'd wager almost certainly not, but I think the program's dark ages would have been a lot shorter had his tenure and leaving gone differently. So in that aspect I wish he would have stayed for 4-5 years then gotten fired, and we moved on to someone else.

We would have run into NCAA trouble right quick and that was back when they actually had some teeth.

I’m not a Kiffin guy as he’s always looking at the grass on the other side of the fence.

In three years, if he does well at a school like UF or even LSU does he get the NFL itch?

I’d pass on him.

He left for USC after 1 year. The only other time he left a program he was a head coach at was when he left FAU to come to Ole Miss. That Tennessee debacle was a one off

I’ll be irate if LSU hires Kiffin. 0 conference championship APPEARANCES at Ole Miss.
Having a good year and now all of a sudden he is a must get. No thanks!

Cool. I just don’t want him in Gainesville. I am of the opinion that if he does that then the NFL is next and he’s not getting younger so he may want to scratch that itch soon.

No big deal.

Yes , because Jimmy Hyams and the rest of the Knoxville news dorks said so. Right?
Kiffin had a few self reported secondary violations at UT, which were meaningless. Between leaving UT and NIL, he never had a whiff of trouble with the NCAA cops. I think it’s a pretty safe bet we would have been respectable to very good in the 2010s if Kiffin had been smart enough not to step in the shite pile Pete Carroll left at USC.

Don't do that. Don't be reasonable. All kidding aside, you guys have had quite the journey but I think Heupel is a good one.

I think he likes a lifestyle that he can have in an Oxford or Gainesville more than he wants an NFL job again.
