I just KNEW it was going to be just one of those games where nothing was going our way, and the home team had way too much momentum to overcome, so I cowardly had already kind of resigned. I realized that there was still a path to victory, but the chances of us taking that path had greatly diminished. The last 15 minutes of games these days feels like 5 minutes when you are trying to race against the clock.
Seeing the last two minutes unravel was kind of surreal. We've gotten to see some really exciting games this year so far.

My husband stood up late 3rd quarter, walked away from the tv muttering who-knows-what under his breath, went out the back door & started cleaning out the garage. I didn't see him again until after the clock hit zeroes.

DeBoer games definitely have you in near heart attack mode, but he wins way more than he loses. We're just gonna have to get used to it as DeBoer continues to grow as a head coach.

Alabama isn’t the place for a coach to continue to grow as a coach. This isn’t a learn on the job type of program.

Yes, Alabama can be a place where you grow as a head coach. It just means you get better at your craft with more experience. DeBoer has not been coaching at the D1 level that long, yet he already has one of the best records in the sport. He's got his flaws (struggling with unranked opponents), but he's still one of the top coaches in the game. Hopefully he can fix that one day. Saban wasn't Saban either early in his career.
Looking at the current landscape of coaches, it's a blessing that DeBoer is at Alabama because those teams that just fired their head coaches are about to find out the hard way just how weak the head coaching ranks are.
