Just thought I would post this and give kudos to the OU fans. A few friends went to Norman for the game and said even though it was raining and an early game that the Oklahoma fans did a really good job of showing up. They also said that the fans they interacted with were some of the nicest and most welcoming they’ve ever been around.

The only negative they said was they yelled “Boomer!” about as much as Tennessee plays Rocky Top.

One of them said he almost shite his pants the first time they fired off the guns when they kicked the ball off

Yes, every time you turn around, there is someone yelling, “BOOMER!” I’m glad your friends had a great time. We always show that hospitality.

Great fans. I was at the Michigan game.

Only complaint was they way overdo booing the refs.

Your fanbase must only be unpleasant online.

It sure beats your fanbase being unpleasant no matter the platform.

I lived in Colorado Springs for a long time and OU played at Air Force one year. They had a roped off area in front of the stadium for food vendors and such. I was in a civic club that sold beer there to raise money for needy kids organizations. The owner of the beer distributor donated the beer so all funds from sales and whatever went in the tip jar was for the kids. After OU purchased the ticket allotment many OU fans purchased the low priced Air Force season tickets and took the OU game out. We had three times the normal amount of beer. Sold out faster than ever, collected more money in the tip jar than the rest of the season combined and the fans that bought season tickets donated the rest of the games for kids to get to go to a game. One of the classiest things I have experienced for sure.

I went to dinner about an hour and half from Norman still in my OU gear and a group of Ole Miss fans( a bunch of old men) come up to us and told us OU fans were the most gracious and welcoming of any fan base in the SEC and they had been to every venue. I was really glad to hear that. South Carolina said the same thing.

Great game and glad your buddies had a good time. Your fanbase traveled! We were sitting right by the guest section and hadn’t seen that much energy from a school, ever.

Best of luck the rest of the year.

The folks I’ve met in TX are good people IRL.

Like most I hear their sidewalk fans are unbearable

No. Stop it. We're supposed to be rivals now.

In reality I've always had a great time at OU games and am looking forward to making the trip again in 2 years.
