I know this may have been discussed many times, but that theme will ALWAYS be SEC. No matter how much hell we give each other, the B1G will never be worthy of this theme and intro. EVER.

I know this has been discussed many times, but that theme music was with CBS LONG before the SEC was on CBS.

In my 47 years on this earth, it has always been associated with the SEC. It was used for bowl games on CBS as well but known as the SEC anthem.

Also remember this as a kid. God the 80s and 90s were the best of times growing up.

The CBS theme music is pretty good. Every time you heard it you knew a big game was coming. Every time it started playing I often turned the color green because my pregame nerves was kicking in lol.

My SR year of high school in Suwanee, GA(Collins Hill). Even though Bama lost this game, this particular CBS intro personified "The third Saturday in October". Bama was up at halftime but, of course, Freddie Kitchens starts passing out picks in the second half. Girl I was dating during thst time came over to watch at halftime and Bama ended up losing the lead and my dad and I told her, jokingly kind of, she couldn't come over for a Bama again after we lost that game lol.

She didn't understand, most women dont but I digress. "Even though the torch has been passed, the intensity of this rivalry remains. Along the banks of the Tennessee River, the Crimson Tide has rolled into Knoxville" ABSOLUTE chills even when I heard that as a teenager for that game.

Whaaaaat?! CBS got to televise Ohio State beating the frick out of Wisconsin and didn't have to relegate itself to that epic Georgia v Ole Miss shootout last weekend.... They're clearly winning.

The networks, and their money is what's wrong with college athletics.

I personally think CBS in game cast is ten times better than ABC as far as sound goes. I can barely hear the broadcast but if you switch over to another broadcast like CBS, Fox, ESPN etc. the sound is much louder and cleaner.

Completely disagree. ABC/ESPN is a much better product and the way they are able to schedule games is better, too. Consider how many big SEC games this year have been night games as opposed to 2:30 kicks. I wouldn't want us to go back to CBS even if they came crawling on hands and knees.

His voice became nails on a chalkboard. I'm glad I no longer have to listen to him every week.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. The networks don’t seem to give a shite. The majority of people in here are pissed at Sankey for this last tv deal.

Night games are better in September but there's nothing like a big game 330 kick in late October/November.

the 3 game slate every Satruday on ABC blows CBS out of the water.

It's great turning on ABC at 11;00 after college gameday and watching 3 premier SEC games back to back from late morning till late night

Maybe true and maybe not, but ABC also has a 2:30 slot so your point is moot. When ESPN was competing with CBS they generally scheduled all of the big SEC games at 2:30 to try and steal viewers from each other so it was impossible to watch them all. It's a much better fan experience to have the good games in conference spread out across time slots.
