Just heard that. They chose us as their homecoming opponent ? Let’s make them regret that decision.

I noticed that too. When I played, it was a real insult to be picked for homecoming. Now, it seems like teams are more often picking big games. Often, the games don't even follow road games, which was obviously part of the point of the name homecoming. Bama this year chose Oklahoma as homecoming, which follows a home game against LSU. It's also on November 15th, which seems like the latest we've ever had homecoming, at least in my memory.

I would run with that for motivation. Everyone wants a win on homecoming.

Maybe they saw this as their biggest home game.

Or maybe they don't even consider the opponent when planning Homecoming these days. Who knows.

SC regularly plays a sec team for homecoming quite often. And believe it or not got a pretty good winning record for homecoming

When I was in school, LSU was our homecoming in 2001. They beat us and if I remember correctly, it was worse than the score indicated.

Rohan Davey kept hitting some receiver and I think the guy had like 200+ receiving on us. Pretty sure they set some SEC records (at the time) that night.

With all of that said, as scheduling evolves and we go to 9 conference games, someone is going to have to be the HC opponent and it will likely fall in the meat of our SEC schedule.

EDIT:
Had to go look up the receiver. It was Josh Reed. He had 19 catches for 293 yeards. Unreal.
