Probably started huffing his own farts (and other’s farts not judging his preferences) and didn’t put in the work and effort necessary to stay sharp.

They didn't target him once during the Missouri game. He's only being used as a decoy now. He drops way too many passes. He's gradually being phased out of the lineup.

I'm not a Bama insider but I can only imagine he probably did something to piss off the coaches, maybe trying to leverage for more money or something, or missing meetings or workouts, who knows. But he is a good player, but a coach can't let one good player dictate how everything goes, especially a team like Bama who has playmakers all over the field. Sit down son, pretend you are hurt, and watch us get along just fine without you for a while, and humbly thyself.

He got old and never learned to catch the ball with his hands, away from his body.
He is a tremendous WR. I do think his routes carry him more over the middle this year and a concussion and a half later have him playing not so fearless.
That said, he is a threat anytime he has the ball. Tremendous athlete, but he is playing with a % QB. His tgts are down because the trust is down.
Needs to add the Devonta Smith 1000 catches a day from the throwing machine outside of practice routine into his daily workout.
