Why didn't refs give UGA a TD after the Auburn "fumble"?

Thought Auburn QB was in but the refs said he fumbled and UGA recovered. Whatever, it is what it is.

Since the refs called fumble, why didn't they give UGA the TD? UGA player got the ball and ran to the endzone and never touched the ground. That should have a been a TD.

They were afraid of signaling an Auburn a TD. Because they are paid.

Ball had been blown dead.

Also, I can’t imagine how angered that stadium would’ve been for a fumble call AND a Georgia touchdown.

It was a Georgia touchdown but the refs are incompetent and blew the play dead . Didn’t matter what happened after that.

I never heard the whistle. What are they? Scared auburn fans would throw trash on the field so they only get the call partially correct?

In all my years of watching football, that's the only time I can remember both teams being screwed out of a touchdown on the same play. Either it crossed the line (which I think it did). Or, it was a fumble return. The ONLY thing it couldn't have been is Georgia's ball at the one.

We got hosed on that call, no doubt. Poor officiating

Imagine losing nine straight games to UGA? And they can’t beat GA-Tech either….

Good swim team school though!

I didn’t hear the whistle but everyone stopped so maybe the players heard one?

It's really dumb that the college refs are part time workers and that the conferences supply them. There should be no sec refs, acc refs, they should should all be NCAA refs and should be professionals. There is plenty of money for that

I didn't watch the first half of the game. Did they originally call it a touchdown for Auburn?

no, ruling on the field was fumble, evidence to overturn was not clear enough. This is not a giant conspiracy, that sort of thing happens all the time.

Because the refs in the SEC couldnt find their own arse with both hands.

The proof is displayed weekly every Saturday in the fall.

For years on end....

Then, to the OPs point, why was the play blown dead?

Because there is a giant conspiracy to hose UGA that has been going on since the Tyler Simmons offsides call in the 17 NCG.

Am I doing it right Auburn Losers?
