This is laughable…between not setting the edge earlier in the season and this…..

5 had more snaps than he did so it appears the coaches are cutting his snaps back

I think he kinda got benched yesterday
Supposedly he’s elite in coverage but all the criticism is valid

Jackson is a liability. He sucks in coverage, he has zero ability to set the edge, he is afraid of all contact. He brings absolutely nothing to the table and Lawson should find the bench with him. No one can give me one big play Lawson has had ever.

That play alone should bench him, he’s been horrible the last couple of games. Can anyone explain that play? I was thinking during the game, “what is he doing??” …avoiding contact is what it looked like.

Everyone knows what he was doing: exacting what you said he’s doing.

I posted this tweet yesterday and glad you brought this back up to the top of the stack. Domani was a great player for us by the end of 2024 but he's had a very poor 2025. I don't know whats up but we'd be a better defense with him playing more like the 2024 version of himself than what we're getting right now.
I could lace up my old cleats and my 40-something arse would be as involved in that play as Domani Jackson.

One of the things I like about our liberal rotations on both sides of the ball is the instant consequences enforced if someone makes a huge mental gaff or gives poor effort.
Sabb spent a few snaps on the sidelines right after he fricked up a sure sack by getting too greedy about knocking out a loosely held football. Dre Jr. was playing middle-of-the-field safety for a few downs in a subsequent series of downs.

That almost looks like a player getting paid to shave points in basketball.
For a senior to do that is unforgivable.
We have way too many options at CB to accept that level of effort

Yup. Time to bench him and give another player more snaps.
Can understand an off game. But he has been off every game.

A few things:
I’m glad our coaches aren’t afraid to bench a starter for poor play.
I truly think Jackson is scared of contact against a bigger opponent. Go back and watch his big hit against a WR, it was on his terms. In this league as a boundary corner you have to be willing to square up with a RB or TE. It will suck but it’s a requirement.
His timid tackling nature almost seems to be bleeding into his coverage. He had great position on the long pass yesterday and simply let the WR box his out.

Agreed with this. The dude is often in position with his man streaking down the field and is in good position but absolutely refuses to turn his head when his receiver does. If he would do that, he’d probably have 3-5 INTs already. Just maddening.

Right, I hate that our defense seems to invite putting corners in this clean up situation w/r/t run fits. However even in differently constructed defenses, a corner will have to make physical tackles on tailbacks every so often. You can't avoid it. Every team wants to get their tailback - especially if they have some size - isolated on your smallest defenders.
Someone should go find him the 2015 LSU tape and let him watch a team full of NFL DBs be absolute dogs when LSU tried to manhood check them with Fournette.

Lol, that was elite coverage on the 4 and 6 play late in the game where he casually watched a freshman WR catch the ball right in front of him.
Drug test the guy. He looks like someone who enjoys weed too much.

This doesn't matter when a Div 1 player at a top ten school can't play simple assignment football.
You learn this when you're 12 years old FFS.

I think he's becoming/became a bad fit.
They mentioned how Bama has swapped to primarily zone coverage compared to playing more man last year in one of the broadcasts. Jackson was a Saban transfer target, so he's probably more of a man guy.
That big play late in the 4th was a back shoulder throw, that's hard to defend. What's harder to defend are his business decisions on tackling, WOOF

I’m envisioning you being a 40 year old smoking a cigarette on the field

Crazy thing is zone is supposed to be easier. Definitely between the ears issue.

Domani has made a business decision. I think we should honor that decision and put him behind a desk.

He looks so rigid at the hips. I can only think that he completely lost where he was on the field and thought it was going to be an overthrow and possible int. Either way, unacceptable
