And what activities do you attend?

Living in the North Dallas burbs, today always feels like an Oklahoma invasion with everyone coming down I-35 and I-75.

Just curious what some of the traditions are from the OU and UTx folks.

TIA

Sorry that is US Route 75. My bad. I only drive on it every day, how should I know.

Piggybacking off this…if you wanted to attend one of these in the future, how would you suggest going about it as a neutral? I know that is vague but just curious. Always wanted to go one year.

As a 25+ year resident of Dallas, I have never been to the RRR. I usually avoid everything dealing with the game and activities and go about my business, and always say that one day I will go, but I never have.

Sorry it's US Route 75, my bad. Everyone just calls it 75.

...or Central Expressway...

Give me a break, every road in Texas has to have 2 or 3 names.

It’s literally at the state fair. Then all of uptown is jersey wearing fans by sundown. We’re heading that way in an hour. Maybe they’re out already.

I mean, if I lived in Dallas 25 yrs I would have probably shown up somehow but I get it. As the years pass by, you’re not really “missing” anything

Well the sumbitch is usually at 11am, and my Friday nights used to be fairly late more times than not, so the math wasn't mathin'.

The last times I attended I was living in Dallas.

Post college trips to OU-TX I stayed at the Hilton on Commerce.

For the times I went when I was in college lodging on Friday and Saturday nights was a mixed bag of crashing on the floor at someone's house to roadside motels in who-knows-where I was at.

We usually stay at the Anatole.

regarding activities: we are olds and been there / done that so I'll research new restaurants in the Metroplex and pick 2 or 3 to try over the long weekend.

RIP Lazaranda. That place was a gem.

It’s been years since I’ve been but have stayed at the Legacy in Plano, Grapevine, near DFW airport. Use to go to West End. My last game was 2012. I went from 1998-2004, 2008, 2010-2012. It’s an experience to behold.

DFW is a complete shithole when it comes to restaurants but I recommend Muchacho in Southlake or Preston Hallow if you want extraordinary Tex Mex.

If you find yourself in the stockyards, try lonesome dove bistro or have some king crab queso at Paloma suerte.

You should go! The Texas State Fair is pretty nice. Wear Alabama gear, you'll be fine.

Avoid the corner end-zone seats if you can
