That Missouri fan trying to argue that only two jobs are better than Missouri got me thinking. How do you categorize programs? In terms of image (which is largely based on past success, with the more recent the more heavily weighted) how do you stack teams? If this were “football class”, what grade would you give them?

Honor Student (blue blood, there are only 4, can go to any college they want).: Alabama

A students: (major historic success and recent success, got a full ride offer to every SEC they applied to… except Vandy): Georgia, Oklahoma

B students: (some historic success and some recent success, got accepted to college but has to take out student loans): LSU, Tennessee, Texas, Florida

C students: (occasional flashes that they should be better, the typical C student, mainly mediocrity… or worse): Missouri, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Auburn (they were B students until they started hangin with drop out hoodlum Hugh Freeze).

D students: (like a passing grade in health, a belk bowl win would be huge, they will have to get their GED down the road). Mississippi State, Kentucky, USCe, Arkansas

F students: (their name is on the roll, but you rarely ever see them as they are either skipping or in detention): Vandy

The reality is no SEC job is below a B. The resources, recruiting, money, and exposure makes them all great jobs and strong programs compared to others. More than half are A and A+ jobs, hell you have 10 schools that still have at least a 20% chance of making the Playoff. Big 10 is the only conference even in the same universe and they are much more top heavy with a lot of meh.

This is real life, not everyone is an A student. Not everyone gets a trophy.

Kim doesn’t like it when you are ugly. She is going to give you the hose again if you aren’t careful.

In the “Where is Drink Going” thread:

He is one of the top paid guys in the country and gets treated well here. Only Bama and Ohio State are definitively better jobs and they’re not looking. Plus, everyone saw what happened with Jimbo.

Thinking OU is an A and A&M is a C in todays ranking of
current program strength or attractiveness, shows you're kinda divirced feom reality.

but if you're weighing historical,
then okay.,

Sure thing. Oklahoma has 4 college football playoff appearances, tied for fourth most.

Think if you just have to rank every program all time.

In no universe is Texas A&M equal to Oklahoma in regards to college football. Oklahoma is a borderline blue blood. Texas A&M is borderline to win 10 games a couple times per decade.

Oklahoma is a blue blood.

They have:
7 National Championships
7 Heisman trophy winners
50 Conference Championships
950 wins (6th overall)
.723 winning percentage (6th overall)
101 AP #1 rankings (3rd overall)
905 AP Rankings (3rd overall)
Longest winning streak (47 games)
4 Playoff appearances
167 All-Americans
29 players in the Hall of Fame
58 Bowl games

By any matrix, those are blue blood numbers.
