Fact is, no SEC team should be tooting its own horn yet

UGA lost at home to Bama, but scored a gutty comeback win over Tennessee in Knoxville.

Bama beat UGA on the road, the best in-conference win so far, but lost on the road to FSU and scored just 23 vs. Vandy with 18 seconds left. Holding UGA to 21 and Vandy to just 14 bodes well.

Tennessee blew its home game vs. UGA and struggled with State on the road.

A&M beat ND on the road, which was a great win, but hasn't been tested in the SEC yet and has yet to play an SEC road game.

Ole Miss dismissed LSU at home, but squeaked by Arky at home and hasn't been tested on the road yet.

Missouri hasn't been tested yet. Home wins over KU and SC don't prove much.

OU took out Michigan at home, which was a good win, but struggled to beat Auburn in Norman. Tough schedule ahead.

LSU looked as if it was going places after beating Clemson on the road, but that offense led by a wounded Nussmeier is dreadful. Who's the backup? Might be time.

Texas looks bad now, but has 7 SEC games left to try to right the ship. Haven't beaten a P4 team yet.

Vandy has looked far better than the Vandy of old, blowing out SC and giving Bama a game in Tuscaloosa. But those Pavia TOs were killers. Tough schedule ahead.

The rest I don't think have much of a chance to finish above .500 this year in the SEC -- UK, Auburn, Arkansas, State, SC, Florida. The Gators have the best chance at a rebound, though the schedule is daunting. Looked good vs. Texas, especially frosh receiver Dallas Wilson and the DLine.

I have no issues with any of these points. I will add that final scores often don’t tell the tale of a game.

Home teams should and will be favored everywhere.

The SEC is getting ready to eat itself.

Good one. The more optimistic viewpoint is that with increased parity, almost any SEC team can look good any given week!

There is no elite team in the SEC, maybe not even the country

Outside of Kentucky and Arkansas, it would not surprise me if anyone was upset in conference

Maybe true, but we only need to win 1 road game (the egg bowl) to make the playoff. Also, we beat UK in a road game where we were behind 10 points after 2 early turnovers. Does that not count as being tested?

Fair enough. More football left to be played to prove it.

We beat GA down and missed a field goal and lost, then Alabama mopped up. Sort of like what is about to happen to you. :)

Bama seems the strongest to me right now.

But at the end of the season we all very well might be pointing and laughing at each other.

Honestly I’m more afraid of Missouri than any other team we play. Your team speed is ridiculous. You’ve got awesome athletes. And your game plan is usually solid.

I have us losing to you guys and beating everyone else.

Hope we beat you but I don’t think it happens.

We shall see. First things first for my team. Have to get past Bama and a couple of tough road games before aTm at home. Lots to prove, just like a lot of other teams. I think Bama is the best SEC team right now and probably hasn't peaked. Jam Miller will be a handful for every opponent. The Tigers' so far stellar run D will be tested. And the so far stinko secondary as well.

Your team has already passed a stiff road test at ND. Well done! And the Aggies will be tough to beat even in Columbia.

Everyone likes saying Ohio State is overrated.
But there isn't a single team in the SEC that any of you would pick to beat Ohio State if they were to play next week.

Not true. I think we have three or four teams that could do it.
