Where are you on this group?

It seems like Carroll is inching towards taking over at RT.

The two guard spots to me are the biggest question marks.

Sanders took more snaps than Dewberry yesterday. I’m not sure I don’t like both of those guys more than the two working at RG, but it’s cloudy.

I think in the next two weeks we try to sort out Formby vs Vandermark.

I think they are getting close to a starting 5.

LT Proctor
LG Dewberry
C Brailsford
RG Formby
RT Carroll

That’s the way I was leaning but Sanders taking more snaps than Dewberry yesterday threw me for a loop.

I think our best 5 would be…

Proctor
Sanders
Brailsford
Roberts
Carroll

I would have Formby over Roberts at Guard but Formby got put at Guard yesterday and ruined a drive by himself. Got whipped twice and we went 3 and Out because of it

I like it but it’s hard to get behind Roberts just because I haven’t seen it. He’s been a bit of a liability in pass protection in the past. But he did play hurt last year.

Roberts is gigantic but he simply can’t stay healthy.

Hasn’t Vandenmark been getting a ton of snaps at RG?

That's my thoughts too. Formby moves well enough to play guard in this offense but has a bit more natural strength than VanDeMark.

I saw MUCH better success with pull blocks against Vanderbilt. We change personnel so often that it is hard for me to attribute it to particular OL groupings though.

Roberts got passed by on depth. Getting hurt didn't help him.

I have no inside information, just a personal suspicion. Having Formby at RG when Carroll is at RT give Carroll someone to help him with assignments. Formby should be a very good security blanket for Carroll while he is learning.

GVDM over Formby at RG from what i have seen.

Roberts cant move the way they want a guard to be able to operate.
